GOP strategists, lobbiest, and leaders are smart and have seen the demographic shift that is before us. It is inevitable that the GOPs base will be a demographic minority in 20 years. However they will retain largely 90-95% of the nations wealth/assets/land and political power by that time as well.

Is it not far fetched to stay that “stacking the courts”, filing courts with any and every young conservative lawyer/Judge, suppressing voter turnout through gerrymandering and voter id laws, colluding with foreign adversaries to steal elections, and filling state govts with gop stalwarts is a tactical decision they made a while ago?

They’re not dumb, they know that they can’t win in a demographics race and that democracry by numbers would destroy republican rule in this country. The wouldn’t last one election.

The will of this country is not the republican ideology, and the future especially isnt. All those political maneuvers I listed above seem to be deliberate attempts to contain the nations governing powers within a dwindling majority group. My question though is — isn’t that a failing model? It is imploding in SA. The minority majority will soon lose all their power, if not just have it stripped from them. Is that a failed, and temporal and not well thought out plan? It doesn’t not seem sustainable largely because it’s against the will of the majority.

Around the country, the last 3 years, we’ve seen lifetime appointment afte life time appointment be filled with political hacks and down right bad lawyers and judges. It is widely known within the legal circles that if u want to crack in govt law as a lawyer, the best route to go is conservative because the competition is less. Easier to get partner that way especially if you’re a WM or WF. I say this having close friends that work for top 3 firms in country.

Anyways how does the GOP truly think this plan is subject to stand the test of time? Nothing has ever withstood the will of the people? Things have gotten so bad that they allowed foreign govts to invade and impregnate their party with disinformation and propaganda just to keep their base in line.

This consolidation of power might seem advantageous in the short term, but seems like wholly a horrible and ill thought out decision in the long run. It reeks of fear and arrogance, and stubbornness.

In 1960 that “demographic minority” was 89% of the US population.

How do you think it would be possible for such an overwhelming majority to become a “demographic minority” in 80 years? What makes it “inevitable” now?

The paradigm shift has to happen. The GOP has to adapt and attract different voters. It's clearly possible.

I like the opportunity for good discussions. Me myself, I do not pledge to either party. One of the major factors I have noticed for some time is the overwhelming impact that our colleges will have and are having already in promoting such an incredibly overwhelming liberal mind view. The GOP base demographics are shrinking quickly, no doubt. With that being said, the Democratic model has also included fighting updating voter lists, and the terminology voter suppression is the first one screamed each time. When we have dead people and illegal immigrants voting, in larger than accepted numbers, that’s a problem, and it’s not voter suppression. One of the reasons that the Democratic wave has been slowed is in regards to abortion. The Democratic establishment is on record in stating that you are not a true Democrat if you are against abortion. The majority of America is against abortion, regardless of whether one wants to argue the point or not. There is a tremendous level of corruption in the Democratic Party, and the Republican part certainly has their share of it, too. Overall, shifting demographics will soon turn both Florida and Texas blue, in what I think will be that order. We both know at the point even one of those states turn blue, the path for a Republican candidate is over.

That was a long post.

If you truly believe in foreign collusion, your either profoundly ignorant, or you’re not being honest with yourself.

And that’s the underlying problem with your post.

You believe in this, emotional, argument that the GOP, and White America, I presume that’s what you intend, but I will accept correction, represents the past. And you, and your beliefs, represent the future.

This belief is derived from Puritan theology. The progress of man, is simply the city on the hill mythology, and it ignores human nature.

Human nature doesn’t change. It’s a foolish and self defeating dream.

Your politics are just a preference, driven by your culture.

Regarding demographics.

Birth rates may be high for immigrants, but that’s not true for their children. They end up normalizing.

And the parties are always adapting, they have to.

The parties are large coalitions of interests, and they’re always in flux. First past the poll ensures this. The parties, whether they understand it or not, are always trying to expand their coalition so they’re large enough to win, but not so large that they’re too divided, and incapable of governing.

Trying to figure out whose alter the OP is.

15 or so posts on the day he registered in October 2015. Next post in January 2020.

Starts a thread on the OT about biggest salary jump, later updates it to say he’s just gotten a raise to $145k a year in February, then in April says he drives Uber/Lyft 20 hours a week just to pay his bills.

I’m not buying it.

Remember that “demographics” refers to age as well. Voting, as it relates to age, tends to shift from Democrat to Republican. Look at any age projection, and you’ll find a sharp increase in average age over the next 10+ years. So the race dimension may work in Democrats’ favor, but they’ll have to appeal to the older crowds if they want to remain competitive.

Yeah there's a subtle tone of invitation to honest and cerebral discussion, but it's actually a series of accusations of odious behavior and actions by Republicans. Not as inviting as it appears.

You are obviously a leftist POS. It is strange that you mention South Africa. If you want that to be the future of the US, God bless you. That is the same country that did not have running water a few months ago because no one left in the entire country was smart enough to fix anything.

Oh well, this nation will head down the path of all of the nations of similar demographics. I feel sorry for all those immigrants who fled their shithole countries only to come to America and turn it into the nations they left.

If the Democrats want to keep killing their babies, let criminals roam the streets to keep killing their youth, keep rewarding people for not contributing to society, reward people with jobs that they don’t have the skills to perform based on their skin color, leave the borders open for anyone to enter and live off the government, good luck to them learning Mandarin. They are going to need it.

Show me where any party besides the democrats in 1984(Kennedy and Soviets) and 2016(dossier) colluded with foreign governments.

Show me where the Republicans are any different in their appointments to the courts than democrats during a Democrat administration.

Have you ever seen the gerrymandering required to create a majority black district in Louisiana or Florida?
