LOL. Our poor are better off than 99% of the richest people who ever lived on planet Earth.

Your ignorance is staggering.

You refuse to even acknowledge the merits of the other side’s argument. It amazes me that you’re calling others brainwashed. I gave you a genuine answer and tried to meet you in the middle. You ignored me completely.

Who defines what that means? Surely not the federal government.

Explain exactly what I've ever said that would indicate that I'm brainwashed, whatever that means to you.

Wrong. I'll fight, and did fight to preserve the opportunity for every American to accumulate wealth.

You’re never going to be able to legislate the less intelligent into making good life choices. It’s never going to happen.

We literally live in the greatest period of human existence. There is virtually no poverty or hunger in the United States. We’ve had greater advancements in healthcare, life expectancy, technology, and basically everything else in the last 300 years compared to the 6500 years before it.

And that was thanks to the industrial revolution and private markets. In fact, the only time this process suffered was when government tried to control markets.

Stop calling for the oppression of humanity.

Once people feel their labor is not valued, they will no longer value their labor. IOW, you will get what you pay for.

Ok genius, tell me this. Why haven't countries with highly socialized health care found a cure for all of these diseases?

Because they don’t pay for shite and disincentivize innovation due to the extreme costs associated with it.

The largest driver of medical costs also happens to be the largest provider of medical coverage - Medicare

No.

Medicare is controlled by Congress. So is for profit health insurance.

For profit rakes off twice what Medicare does.
Congress makes it so.
Bluex is 2x Medicare. off the top.

Insurance?

How much better would this world be if Wall Street no longer had the ability to make money in these fields? Imagine how much better all our lives would be if Millionaires and Billionaires couldn't take advantage of people trying to get educated or healthy or protecting themselves with insurance. The middle and lower class individual would retain far more of their wealth.

Yes medicare is controlled by Congress and the administrative bureaucrats they empower.

Using your number, 2x, if drug maker A convinces the bureaucrats to pay $100 more for a drug then private providers will now pay $200 more.

Medicare is government mandated floor in prices that hinders competition, enriches providers and generates huge lobbying fees.

A better question is what industries should be publicly versus privately owned.

And the only correct answer the monopoly of force is the only industry that should be publicly owned.

I am not brainwashed at all.

I have experience and a life of observation and participation to know that you are foolish and you really have not proposed anything in this thread. You want some non identified "non profits" to operate key industries as if they can do it better. Name the non profits that will do what you want and tell us just how you will get these non profits to do the better job you want done.

Define "taking advantage of the less intelligent". You are obviously one of the less intelligent on this thread. Do we need to restrict your business to business with the non profits we want you to do business with?? Should I be designated by some authority to decide what you need and where you should get it because you are less intelligent???

I want those industries to not have stocks traded. Investments shouldn't exist. Only donations.
