re: FOX10 AL Sen Poll: Moore Leads Jones 49% to 43%

The NRSC poll is fake news. The Fox poll oversampled Democrats, I think.
Nonetheless, the race has obviously changed and Jones has real chance at winning a seat any generic Republican should be walking away with. Moore needs to get out of his shell and at least try to go after people in the middle. Doubling down on his base and hiding behind wacko surrogates isn’t going to help him. I don’t think he’s capable of doing anything else though.
Roy still has the Alabama Rule of Three going for him, which is a traditionally tremendous obstacle for any opponent to overcome.

People aren’t as stupid as they think we are.. common sense why would these accusations come out so soon before a special election forty years later

The poll showing Jones leading has a ridiculous party skew that over samples the Dems by a good 15 points (7.5 in each direction).
Are you serious? Do you have a link showing that? It's hard to believe that FoxNews would publish such a poll. But then again, they seem to be eGOP more than conservative.

We love our fake polls don't we folks?

Disagree.... Moore needs to lay low for another week and let this blow over more.
He still has plenty of time left and will win by over 4%

No link but the sample on that poll was R 48% D 42% which is complete bullshite in Alabama.

I would entertain the idea that a poll reflecting Jones leading could inspire people get out to vote for Republicans.

Yeah, that's not Moore's MO, especially now with Bannon behind him. His campaign had 2 press conferences yesterday, and is currently having another one.

Could be. I would rather just see an honest poll!

Next week is Thanksgiving and the Iron Bowl. The week after post-Iron Bowl/pre-SEC Championship. On one hand that’s good because it will take the conversation away from him. On the other hand, it prevents him from convincing moderate/suburban GOP voters to come back in his camp. Remember, Moore traditionally underperforms on General election ballots.
I agree that I will have to see it to believe it when it comes to seeing him lose.

They will vote for him once they get in the voting booth. Trust me. All he needs is one last week of blitz pointing out how liberal Jones is.
All he's got to do is survive until that last week and he's golden.

Well that's still "lying low" in my opinion. I meant "stay local" and don't do anymore Hannity bullshite.
Fight it, but fight it in Alabama, not in NYC or D.C.

me too. I just dont think that exists today.
i started viewing every poll asking myself what kind of person would answer a phone call from an unknown number and then listen to an automated system or telemarketer asking them questions about for whom they intend to vote.
I dont think that person is representative of the average voter, for either party.

Gotcha. And he actually is laying low and just letting all his sycophants do the talking for him. You'd think he was running this race against The Washington Post based on the talking points.

One of the press conferences yesterday was an absolute circus and the shouting fights in the hallway from his nutjob surrogates overshadowed anything that was positive.
The one today just had a woman say “Roy Moore is the closest thing any of us have observed to a Founding Father in our lifetime.” Another woman went into graphic detail of abortions.
These wackos aren’t doing Moore any favors.

I think the Trump win has changed this a little though, but yeah he barely won the last Supreme Court race against a Dem the party threw up there at the last minute. Think it was like 51% to 47%, or something like that.
It being a special election gives it a different dynamic. He can't rely on straight ticket voters a presidential or gubernatorial election brings.

I especially liked the ones complaining about out-of-state influence when they themselves were from out-of-state.

This is old news. Fox just conducted a poll last night which showed Doug Jones up by 8. I'll try to find a link with the newly published poll.
