Trump has one thing the rest of the GOP does not have. Money.
Trump has more money saved up and growing for elections than the entire RNC. The last FEC report said Trump had $250 million from small donations and he is ready to spend. By contrast the entire RNC has ~$50 million IRC and they spread that money nationwide on GOP candidates. Trump will spend his campaign contributions on himself.
When Jeb ran in 2016 for the GOP nomination he had $100 million in hand and it was expected that he was going to win easily. We know Trump won but by comparison Trump is starting the 2024 with $250 million and will only raise more. Many small Trump donors will trump a few rich donors for losing candidates.

I really want it to be DeSantis as of right now but it's weird to me that they are still so shite scared of Trump. It seems to me that they'd actually want Trump to be the nominee so they could cheat their way to however many votes it takes to win and no matter how unbelievable that number is they could just say "they voted against Trump". They couldn't use that same narrative against DeSantis
