David Plouffe played a major role in Obama’s 2008 election. He may be a liberal, but he understands how elections work.

He is now predicting that the Coronavirus crisis will not have a negative impact on turnout among Trump voters.

It will, however, put Joe Biden at a disadvantage.

quote:

The coronavirus pandemic and struggling economy will not deter President Trump’s supporters from turning out in November, which makes the incumbent “very dangerous” to Democratic front-runner Joe Biden, former Obama adviser David Plouffe told the “Fox News Rundown” podcast Thursday.

“You look at the economic situation and say, ‘How can an incumbent win in that?’ But, you know, no one’s blaming Trump for the damage,” Plouffe explained. ” … I think if you can lay his crisis response at his feet and connect that to the economy, I do think that’s some headwind he’s got to run into.”

quote:

As normal campaigning has ground to a halt due to the pandemic, Biden has been virtually out of the spotlight, which Plouffe said puts him at a disadvantage as President Trump remains on the front lines of the crisis.

“There’s nothing he [Biden] can do about it. He’s not in office. He’s not a governor. He’s not the president. And truthfully, [New York Govornor] Andrew Cuomo, [California Govornor] Gavin Newsom … Donald Trump, citizens want to hear from those folks because they’re the folks making decisions.”

quote:

Rush Limbaugh commented on this:

Look. They know. Biden doesn’t really have a chance even with all this going on. There’s nobody that can compare with Trump just in terms of stage presence, daily presence, commanding leadership presence. You know, at the briefing yesterday Trump brought out a bunch of military people, said we’re gonna put the U.S. military in action interdicting drugs coming into our country. I got people texting, “What the hell is this, we’re gonna use the military for drug interdiction? I can’t believe it.” You know what my response was?

This is excellent. This is Donald Trump showing he can handle any number of crises simultaneously and that the United States is not gonna be crippled or shut down or taken advantage of. That’s what he was saying.

Does the average young liberal even know if the Democratic Party has a candidate?

That's a good thing for Biden. Every day of lockdown is a day he can't get into a confrontation with a voter and can't put an epic gaffe on videotape.

Also no KAG pep rallies until this is over.

I disagree, the media doesn’t report on his gaffes anyway. Him being completely unable to campaign right now is hurting him.

That's a solid point. No one is talking about Biden. Trump is getting all of the press. Some nancies are bitching about how he handled it at the beginning, but you'd be hard pressed to say that truthfully now. Regardless, even bad press is better than no press.

Even polls that show Biden ahead show the average Trump supporter is way, way more enthusiastic about Trump than the average Biden supporter is about Biden. The candidate on the end of an enthusiasm gap that big is usually doomed.

Their candidate is ANYBODY BUT TRUMP.

No ideas, no vision...just not Trump.

Vapid human beings who can't design a future but no Trump. That's their vision. That's their message for the future.

I watched Trump's team at the presser yesterday on Fox and Peter Navarro his trade advisor spoke and it was an extremely informative and compelling briefing. He gave specific examples of how Trump was working between the cities and businesses to solve problems. I turned to CNN to see how it was being covered and they weren't carrying the presser.

It was really a shame because I was actually fascinated with how Trump worked between these different entities to get resources allocated. His hands on approach described by Navarro was extremely impressive.

As much as I would like to attach some credibility to what this guy has to say, I can't forget that he was one of the central cast of characters who was advising Hildabeast in 2016. Crooked H. had almost every advantage in the world going for her (media, social media, spent 3-4 times more than Trump, etc.), and yet somehow those dipshits still managed to screw it up.
