Bill Frist loses ALL credibility by making such a statement.

quote:

“It is with some trepidation that I offer thoughts on how the good people still serving in the Senate should address a current crisis, but staying silent is no longer an option,” Frist wrote in an Op-Ed article The Washington Post posted Friday night. “Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is under assault, and that is wrong. No matter who is in the White House, we Republicans must stand up for the sanctity of our democracy and the rule of law.”

Staying silent would have saved your reputation. Give one reason why Muller should not be fired now. He IS NOT investigating a crime. He is investigating a person (Trump) AND covering up F Bee I and Dee O Jay crimes.

quote:

Trump recently said he mourns the “young and beautiful” lives “destroyed” by the probe.
Frist, said his fellow Republicans can no longer look the other way as “tweet by tweet, with each new assault on the Justice Department’s independence, the bedrock principles of our party crumble.”

Muller's investigation causes the bedrock of our principles to crumble. He has no crime to investigate. Our Justice system requires verified evidence of a crime to be committed BEFORE an investigation can be opened, else the bedrock of our principles crumble. To call a SC should have a stricter requirement, especially of a president. There better be concrete evidence to call a SC on a sitting prez.

quote:

“When Trump talks about firing the special counsel or his power to pardon himself, he makes it seem as though he has something to hide,” Frist wrote. “The president must remember that only Mueller’s exoneration can lift the cloud hanging over the White House.”
“I, for one, do not think the president colluded with Russian President Vladimir Putin to win the 2016 election,” he wrote. “But I do believe Putin purposely tried to undermine our democratic process.”

Frist, the MSM asked the question about whether a prez could pardon himself. Trump spoke about it in reference to a question. He wasn't even thinking about it. You think the prez did not collude with the Russians. Muller KNOWS Trump did not collude with the Russians, but he is trying to find anything to lead to Trump's impeachment. If it was you, you would want Muller gone, and he should be.

quote:

While Frist wrote “I don’t worry about Robert Mueller. He is a lifelong Republican with a career of distinguished service running the Criminal Division of the Justice Department for President Ronald Reagan and serving as [Bush’s] FBI director, twice unanimously confirmed by the Senate.”
Mueller’s investigation is also getting results, with 23 indictments and five guilty pleas in just more than a year, Frist pointed out.
“Congress must never abandon its role as an equal branch of government,” he wrote. “In this moment, that means protecting Mueller’s investigation. We’re at our best as senators and Republicans when we defend our institutions. But more than that, it’s our best face as Americans.”

Frist, thanks for pointing out that Muller is a member of the Deep State. While Muller served as F Bee I director he put innocent people in jail, and two of them died in jail. Get this Frist, Muller knew the people were innocent. Do a little research.
Muller indicted 13 Russians, but doesn't want to hand over the evidence of collusion to the defense, so they can defend themselves because Muller HAS NO EVIDENCE. He made it up. Every prosecutor knows they have to hand over their evidence so the defense can defend themselves.
It's funny that you say "Congress should never abandon their role as an equal branch of gov't, yet you did not address the D O Jay's obstruction of Justice by NOT handing over documents to Congress that have been requested or subpoenaed. Why are you remaining silent on that? Didn't you begin your Oped with, "I can't remain silent any more?" Congress has oversight of the D O Jay and F Bee I. They have redacted documents that incriminate themselves. They have not given Congress the document(s) used to justify creating the SC Muller is in charge of. First, shouldn't everyone see that document prior to requesting anyone protect Muller's team. His team may have been created by the Dept of Justice UNJUSTLY which harms "the sanctity of our democracy and our rule of laws."
Frist, you should have remained silent or called out the D O Jay.

Alexander votes against Repeal and Replace

Corker goes off the deep end

Frist comes out of retirement to build and attack a strawman

When did Tennessee legislators get this bizarre? I'm not even a Republican, and it pisses me off to see these scumbags lie to their constituents year after year. Is there a single Republican in Tennessee that isn't an arse-chapped RINO?

I've met Bill Frist, several times. He was very down to earth, reasonable. Suddenly he's lost his mind. To understand the lunacy of Frist's assertions, all one needs is a tiny little perspective as to what's going on.

Paul Manafort, convicted of nothing, sits in prison . . . in solitary confinement. He was put there by a historically manipulative leftist prosecutor and an Obama twice appointed judge.

Meanwhile, Bill Cosby, convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault, sits at home for months until his actual sentencing, which will likely amount to a life term.

It's almost like something's askew.

Geaux figure.

You mean he once actually had credibility?

I never could stand that pasty-faced loser.

Feckless does not begin to describe this man. He was terrible as Majority Leader - allowing the "Gang of 8" sellout of Bush's court nominees.

Exactly.

Tenure of Office Act was unconstitutional, and that dealt with Cabinet officers and others approved by the Senate.

Mueller is neither of those.

The entire opinion piece is filled will half truths, lies, platitudes and delusion.

It's like this medium sized group of pols and MSM in DC and NY have to write daily Trump hit pieces and pro-cabal pieces to affirm their delusions. And of course they all use the NYTs and WaPo as their rhetorical vehicle. It's the weirdest thing.
