I broke up with my gf of almost 2 years because she thinks it’s great they are forcing my kids to wear masks. She’s a nurse and this variant crap has caused her to do a 180. Even though it’s less deadly and kids are 12x more likely to be shot than die of covid. I know I’m being unreasonable in the grand scheme of things but I can’t help it. I believe with every fiber of my being it’s child abuse.

I just went to lunch with the fam and everyone wore masks from the restaurant door to the table. My kids could honestly not give a frick whatsoever. And I'm not some big mask zealot or anything. I'm just letting you know their apparant opinion of masks.

How do you feel about dress codes?

Or the vaccines your kids got so they could attend school?

None of this is about public health.

It is about control.

If I would have told you this shite was going to take place 10 years ago you would laugh in my face.

Child abuse is punishing your kid by putting his hand in boiling water because he won't stop crying.

Child abuse is waking your child up with the phrase "get up you mistake".

Child abuse is knocking your kids tooth out because he knocked over a glass of milk.

Child abuse is making your kid kill his pet because the puppy peed on the carpet while toilet training.

Child abuse is not feeding your son or daughter enough because you spend the food money on alcohol.

Wearing a mask is not child abuse.

No you aren't.

Telling the truth is never unreasonable.

Your nurse friend is unreasonable.

Creating an environment of fear where there is no justification for one is psychological abuse.

Kids are not in danger from this virus.

Facts.

I have a beautiful 3 year old grandchild who has such a beautiful personality and I would definitely challenge anyone to make her wear a mask.

It would never happen.

OP was right to break up with nurse who is not only showing a lib, progressive personality but has drunk the koolaid about trying to stop natural immunity and natural antibodies which will protect her for years as opposed to a vaccine which could sterile her or do great future harm

Masks on children is not supported by medicine or science.

Masks in schools are providing zero benefits and are causing all kinds of turmoil.

Forcing kids into masks is abusive when done for no good reason.

Is it the equivalent of a beating, of course not but it's still abusive and damaging developmentally.

Of the myriad things which are obviously 100% theater, this one might be my favorite.

The idea that someone is doing something useful by wearing a mask while walking through the restaurant, and then immediately yanking it off as soon as they sit down, surrounded by everyone else that ALSO has just walked through masked and then took them off, is just hilarious to me. Every time I've done this, my first move is to look at the people sitting 4 feet away from me at both sides and laugh as I take it off, only to see them laugh and nod in return.

As a kid, I was the little a-hole that was always in class asking, "Yeah...but why?" I wasn't really doing it to be annoying...I genuinely wanted to know the reasoning behind things I was asked to do. Most teachers accepted this and would attempt to give a solid answer, and some didn't. Those were the "because I said so," ground, for whom I never had any respect. It was obvious most of those times the person saying it was doing so because they did not have a good reason. Most of my issues with all of the various Covid protocols from the very beginning have stemmed from situations like this. Requests which are OBVIOUSLY bullshite and when asked "why" officials refuse to give any reasonable answer...just "comply." I had no idea that as a kid I was basically preparing for today.

Dress codes are needed. Girls in HS should not be allowed to wear skirts that are shorter than 14 inches above the knee.
