For those of you who say corporations can do what they want....

The question I have for you is this: Are you okay with a world where three rich dudes can decide together to erase anyone or anything from the internet, up to and including the President of the United States?

The problem is people who bitch about these companies continue to use them.

If you are talking about Facebook & Twitter it's easy not to use them especially Facebook.
Facebook is for the Karen's of the world.

I've been saying for a long time they needed to be set up and regulated like utilities.
The Section 230 provisions weren't the only thing Zuck and Dorsey feared as their stock would plummet once regulated.
I'm not a fan of increasing regulations but their communications services are so universal and ubiquitous that they are almost a necessary utility for some.

The problem I see is that you have to be an adult to agree to the terms. As an adult you have the ability to unfollow and/or block anyone you wish. If you don't like what someone says, don't follow them. I hate Subway restaurant, thus, I don't eat there. That's what adults do. I don't petition the CEO to shut the entire business down.
Twitter's policy should be particularly simple. If you see something you disagree with, please let us know and if you aren't able to block the account we'll gladly block it from your feed. That's it. Period.

It’s up to the government to enforce existing laws to put a stop to it, and if that isn’t happening it’s up to the people to pressure the government to take action.
In this case I have no doubt that Dems worked with leaders at Twitter, Google, and Apple to make these coordinated actions happen, but there’s no proof.

They’ve been erasing the internet like a shaken Etch-A-Sketch since the start. You didn’t give a shite until it was your guy. Trump overplayed his hand and is paying for it.

Exactly! I cancelled Netflix the very day that I heard about that show cuties. Everyone on this website knows what that show is about and I guarantee you that 80% of the people here that had Netflix still have it. It’s our fault!

What do you need twitter or Facebook for?
If it's news and soundbytes, you're doing it wrong.

People don't realize.
"Once it's on the internet it's there forever" has already resulted in tons of lost media.

This should help clear up the situation if you’re having trouble understanding the true relationship between Big Tech and the Dim Marxist party.......Zuckerberg dropped nearly a half a billion dollars assisting the Dims to rig an election with the unauthorized ballot drop boxes in several swing state cities/precincts.

If you are a public person (such as a government official) Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube are the three best options in getting your message out to the masses. If you disagree with that then you are willfully ignorant. I realize there are other options, but the three aforementioned websites reach about seventy-five to eighty percent of the world's population. You can't say the same about Bitchute, Daily Motion, Parler, or Gab.
You also have companies like Google and Apple (who have the cellular market cornered) who will remove apps like Parler from their app stores because they allow speech those companies disagree with.

I think the social media websites can do what they want. But hosting and cloud space cos (Amazon) are where the utility analogy works.

Surely the ACLU will be all over Twitter and other social media platforms arguing against these practices.

Who would have thought that crowd sourcing news with built in confirmation bias was a terrible idea?
These platforms are more powerful than you can possibly imagine at this point. They literally control the government, not the other way around.

So this is the quagmire of America as a whole. Yes I do believe it is their right to discriminate against people for their political views. This falls into the same category as baking the cake and burning the flag. They are not violating anyone’s personal rights or liberties.
What they are doing is censoring political opposition and speech which is authoritarian government 101 type activity. The only way to stop them is in the pocket book. This is just like the NFL you have to have to go away and never come back. At this point they will only respond with more censorship and tighten their grip.
