The actual proceedings weren't nearly as much of a circus.

The media coverage was 180-degrees. Why are they persecuting him, etc.

The Clinton impeachment was a fiasco, too.

Only difference was that he deserved it on many different levels...

In Clinton's case, you had a serial rapist perjure himself.

In this case, absolutely nothing approaching a crime has been committed.

I was there to watch the Nixon resignation, then the Clinton impeachment. This schiff-show is embarassing. The country is being put through a circus. In both those previous impeachment hearings (Nixon/Clinton) the facts were clear......Nixon lied and Clinton lied.

After watching this Schiff-show I see no evidence that would lead me to conclude the President did anything wrong. In the hearing today Ambassador Sondland admitted that when he asked the President what he wanted......Trump said he didn't want anything.....no Quid Pro Quo...nothing. The President was clear on that.

With Nixon there was irrefutable evidence he lied to the American people. Same thing with Clinton. The clincher for Clinton was him wagging his finger at the American people as he said, "I did not have sex with that woman". We all knew the guy was lying. Democrats knew he lied but didn't care.

What we're seeing with the Schiff-show is hearsay, second and third hand knowledge of events, he said she said b/s. border line innuendo, and outright lies.

It's a no brainer. The democrats are treading on dangerous ground with this circus.

No. The issue was whether committing perjury was an impeachable offense when the President claimed he only lied about having sexual relations with a 21 year old subordinate under oath in a sexual harassment suit (at issue was how and whether he #metooed women in the workplace that he felt would be easy targets) when he did so (because he claimed) he didn’t want his wife to find out he was having an “affair.”

There was no dispute he got a bj in the Oval Office as shown by direct testimony from the provider and DNA. Gingrich didn’t hear it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who. The one who had been messing around, copped to it and POTUS was clearly on the scene.

OK, I'm the outlier here. I thought the Clinton impeachment TV was boring. I think the Trump impeachment TV is boring. I've got better things to watch. Lately, it's 1950's 'You Bet Your Life' with Groucho Marx.

Unless something tops a discussion/question and answer about the meaning of sex, flavored cigars or cum stained dresses, Bill has this one beat.

When did Trump have an affair with an intern and lie about it under oath as President of the United States?

There is no comparison. Clinton's started with crimes laid out by a prosecutor. Trump's is Schiff making crap up as he goes along and changing what he says is a crime daily.

Honest Bob had no criminal referrals so Schiff is creating them. It is why no one is really watching anymore.

The MSM tried so hard and cancelled soap operas to show the fake partisan impeachment it didn't work.

With a real impeachment it is a big deal and bipartisan as outlined.

This is the democrats wanting impeachment because they have no candidate to beat Trump.

Wonder what the catchphrase from this shitshow will be?

I think preferring hearsay to actual testimony is a strong contender. Not sure how you make that "catchy" though.

What do you think the Democrats would say if Donald Trump boinked a 20 year-old intern? Would they agree that it was consensual sex? Not a chance.

Democrats for years have harped about how even consensual sex was sexual assault if the power difference was enough. You don't get much greater disparity in power than the POTUS and an intern...

Clinton was lucky the Republicans went by the rule of the law and the only crime he actually broke was perjury. They didn't hold a trial based on whether it was okay for the POTUS to boink the intern on his desk in the Oval Office.

This trial is more like what you would expect from the Democrats. No laws broken, but dammit, we don't like him and we feel like he must have broken some law, somewhere!

Clinton was impeached because during a sexual harassment lawsuit against him by Paula Jones he straight lied about his relationship with Lewinksky. Based upon his denials the case was dismissed. People forget he was the first sitting President to face a lawsuit for something done prior to being President.

After his lying was outed, Jones appealed and had the case reopened and eventually Clinton and her settled out of court.
