The idea got panned but I kinda like it. Give them boxes of fresh food instead of letting them buy junk food or sell their ebt cards. Imagine people turning down free food during the great depression.

I prefer food stores for the poors with only healthy food available.
Mobile trucks tossing out food if needed.

It will be like unboxing a Stichfix. Think of the excitement!

The dems should love this so much. It’s just like Michelle’s school lunch plan, just for families. With the left’s push to socialized medicine, it’s only logical for public health.

We should make available all the beans, powdered milk, rice and similar foods they can eat to be sure no one starves. If they want better tasting food, they can earn it or rely on charity.

Or just vouchers for the government supermarket. Gives them some measure of choice, but they would have to sell the food, basically, to get anything out of it. Make it a chip card verified with a thumbprint.
My hypothetical government supermarket only has generic basics, produce, dairy, meat. No candy, no demand items, no boxes. Beans, rice, potatoes.
Don't like your choices and/or want something else? Get a fricking job. But, nobody starves.
ETA: JBH, motherfrickin' jinx, bro.

I support the boxes. Wasn't there a time when poor people had to go pick up particular foods, when the term "government cheese" was coined? They got the basics. They couldn't go get lobster tail and steaks.
There's no reason why those who live off the taxpayers dime should eat as well, or better, than said taxpayers.

Do you think the contract for supplying the food will go to one of those two employee LLCs like the ones that got the power line job in Puerto Rico or the FEMA contract that was supposed to deliver 30 million meals and ended up delivering 50,000?

If this happened the amount of people on food stamps would drop so fast

overwhelming majority of able bodied recipients have jobs, but don't let that get in the way of your hate and need to satisfy your sense of superiority

What is this number, both in actual numbers and percentage of foodstamp recipients?
What qualifies as "able-bodied" and what percentage of recipients are "able-bodied"?
I look forward to you giving some context to your rather vague claims.
