As many of you know, I retired last month and moved out of California the very next day.

My son is a senior software engineer for a big company in Silicon Valley. He has been working remotely during the Covid shutdown. A lot of companies in Silicon Valley have realized during the shutdown that some of their employees could work remotely full time. So last week his company told him that he could work remotely permanently and that he could live anywhere as long as he had high speed internet access.

Yesterday he made an offer on a house in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. His offer was accepted last night, so he will be moving out of California next month.

So add one more name to the list of high-income residents fleeing the state because California has become a liberal dystopian hell hole.

And fwiw, my son is even more conservative than I am. One criterion he had for choosing a new state was that it had to be a Red state.

That was a second criterion. He wanted a place that was cold. For some reason, he loves cold weather.

Congrats and also feel we lost two voices of reason in Cali. It is a futile fight though.

Thanks. My son is a better version of me, because he had my wife's influence while growing up.

He going going to be killing it in Idaho making California money. If a lot of companies offer this deal then everyone will leave for a cheaper state.

Lol I hope they all move there. (Sorry Idahoans). And by that I mean the cali transplants in southwest Colorado need to discover Idaho too, so that Colorado is free once again.
