re: Female to replace Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones
I was super excited for the Crystal Skulls movie but wasted money seeing it in the theater. I’ve never tried to watch it again because I thought it was so stupid.

There was some early scuttlebutt about Chris Pratt taking over that piqued my interest but with this shit, I’m totally out.

The Indiana Jones series has 3 movies and 3 only.

She is actually pretty good in Fleabag. But yeah, not a good idea.

At least read the article you posted...

quote:

The 36-year-old actress and screen-writer is currently filming alongside 79-year-old screen icon Harrison in the fifth instalment of the Indiana Jones film franchise.

And, according to reports, the British actress could be stepping into the titular role of the franchise for future instalments of the series.

Plot details for the new film – which is a sequel to 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – but it is rumoured Phoebe’s role is as an assistant to the title character.

re: Female to replace Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones
She will not be a “female Indiana Jones.” It looks like she’ll be playing his sidekick and will later star in her own movie about said sidekick, so pump the breaks a little on that. However...

It’s still woke AF and therefore will not appeal to the general public, and then they will have a new soapbox from which to bitch about the “toxic masculinity” of movie-going audiences. My only hope is that if Kathleen Kennedy is really the driving force behind this it’ll tank so hard lucasfilm will finally fire her.

I did… if you don’t think she ends up being the new face of the franchise based on both the context of the article and the context of contemporary Hollywood story arcs more generally, I’ve got nothing for you.
