senior GOP lawmaker made national headlines Sunday night, publicly confirming the FBI withheld evidence that “directly refuted” the agency’s premise behind the ongoing Russia-Trump collusion probe.

Texas Rep. John Ratcliffe was speaking with Fox News when he was asked to comment on the controversial FISA application that allowed the Department of Justice to surveil the Trump campaign heading into the 2016 election and beyond.

quote:

Hypothetically, if the Department of Justice and the FBI have another piece of evidence that directly refutes that, that directly contradicts that, what you would expect is for the Department of Justice to present both sides of the coin to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to evaluate the weight and sufficiency of that evidence,” Ratcliffe said.

quote:

“Instead, what happened here was Department of Justice and FBI officials in the Obama administration in October of 2016 only presented to the court the evidence that made the government’s case to get a warrant to spy on a Trump campaign associate,” he added.

These fricking bastards should be rope dragged down Penn Ave.

As Julian Assange asserted, if all the corruption in DC is disclosed our government will crumble. IMO, a little air will be released a little at a time in avoiding a big whoosh all at once.

And yet Trump still refuses to declassify the docs -- all because Britain asked him not to. There must be stuff in there that makes the Brits look terrible.

I actually think the opposite. I think if everything was released at once, no one would believe it. That’s why you got to do it a little bit at a time so people don’t dismiss it all as conspiracy theory.

Not sure why he'd use this word here.

He's using that word because he hasn't seen the unredacted FISA. Only one HPSCI committee member from each party has seen it and Ratcliffe's not even on HPSCI.

Which is one more person than you know who’s seen the unredacted document.

But it started a conversation. And that is the most important thing.

3 questions about the FISA court

something that has NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH FISA APPLICATIONS?

"FISA court is not like a typical criminal court.

First, Department of Justice officials seeking a warrant do not need to show evidence that a crime has occurred or is about to happen. That sort of evidence, also known as probable cause, would be needed to obtain a typical search warrant in criminal court. Instead, officials only need to provide evidence that the target of surveillance is a foreign power or agent of a foreign power."

Tell us how that doofus Carter Page is "an agent of a foreign power"

idiot
