The writer, Tyler Bridges, is a total clown.
Same guy that wrote an article for the fake news Washington Post, in which he lied about the criminal record of a man that murdered a mother and dismembered her body, in order to try to get the man freed. He was called out on his lies and doubled down on SJW lunacy in the Advocate.

Trump received 58% of the LA vote in 2016 and despite the continuous media drumbeat trying to suggest otherwise, he's done NOTHING to lose that support.

Trump won La by almost 20 points. All but one of our members of Congress are Republicans. Both chambers of our legislature have been under Republican control for almost a decade. The only reason we have a Democrat as governor is due to a heavily GOP-loaded field that allowed him into a run-off against an opponent with a diaper full of baggage. Edwards will probably win re-election, but far more because he's an incumbent without any heavily-reported scandal (and he's giving teachers raises as well as signed a pretty conservative abortion bill) than because of his party affiliation.
Trump has done nothing to negatively impact Louisiana so it's simply wishful thinking to believe this op-ed tripe thinly veiled as a news story and nothing more.
