“But suppose the ox had a reputation for goring, and the owner had been informed but failed to keep it under control. If the ox then kills someone, it must be stoned, and the owner must also be put to death.” - Exodus 21:29 NLT
Imagine a judge, probation officer, or parole board deciding the fate of a known criminal. The criminal already has a track record of violence, and warnings have been given about the danger they pose. Yet instead of keeping them confined, authorities release a known dangerous criminal back into society. At that point, they assume responsibility for that individual and should be held equally accountable for any crimes he commits.
