Been at work since 5am. I knew Mueller was handing down indictments today, but I have no access to my cellphone, or any media, at work.
What happened?

2 indictments were handed down today. 1) Manafort 2) Gates.
None of the charges have anything to do with Trump, not even remotely.
That is it for the no spin part.

Manafort was charged with mainly personal financial crimes he was responsible for from 2008-2015. Mainly tax evading type of things and other lobbyist endeavors, with some money laundering. Nothing about the 2016 election or Trump so far.
Tony Podesta also stepped down from his lobbyist role. Manafort worked for him and John in the Ukraine and their lobbying roles are huge, so this adds another facet.

3.) Some guy named poppadock or some shite admitted to lying to the FBI. Somewhat related to Trump and Russia. CNN is hailing this as the smoking gun that confirms COLLUSION.

One correction. That didn't happen today. He was arrested in July. They are only leaking this info now for optics. It is irrelevant to today's events.

Mueller finally gets to indict Manafort for something he should have done as FBI director back in 2012.
If an indictment comes down for either Podesta brother then you will know why Mueller couldn't do his job in 2012

ctually, when I was watching this morning, the media was making a point of the fact that it's not really a "smoking gun".If you read all about Manafort' and friends' activities, though,it is pretty fricking suspicious. It demonstrates a clear connection with foreign interests/ agents, even if much of it began before the election.
