BAD IDEAS!!!!

quote:

In a half-hour phone conversation with VICE News, Reid was blunt when asked if he thought supporting Medicare for All would be problematic in the 2020 general election.

“Of course it would be,” he said. “How are you going to get it passed?”

“I think that we should focus on improving Obamacare. We can do that — without bringing something that would be much harder to sell,” he said when asked his thoughts on the debate over whether Democrats should pursue Medicare for All or a more modest Obamacare expansion. “Improving Obamacare: People understand that. They would appreciate that. It locks in many important things.”

quote:

“There are so many more important things to do. Decriminalizing border crossings is not something that should be at the top of the list. It should be way, way down at the bottom of the list,” Reid said, responding with a curt “of course it is” when asked if supporting that position would be politically problematic in the general election.

“There are so many more important things to do.”

“People want a fair immigration system. They don’t want an open-door invitation for everybody to come at once,” argued Reid.

If a dem wins in 2020 and tries medicare for all, he or she will fail in embarrassing fashion. And liberal activists will deflect by blaming lobbying and corruption

Some politicians support what they support because its what they truly believe, other politicians support what they support because its the best way for them to gain more and more political power

I always thought Harry Reid was in the latter category

He sounds just like the dems of 1990 sounded. The "progressives" ain't gonna listen to an old, white man with old, 1990 ideas though.

Harry Reid is a p.o.s. I believe nothing that comes out of his smug little mouth.

Reid is an evil, bitter little man. I don’t care what he said, he is a huge part of why we are where at as a nation.

You laugh, but this sounds like Reid was the leader of the Democrats on the Hill for the past 20 years and maybe longer. He knows what is foolish and not worth wasting time over.

It amuses me to no end that his last great act before leaving was ramming through the "nuclear option" that has now bitten his own party on the arse twice.

I always thought Harry Reid was in the latter category

He was - then he retired. Now he can go back to stating his actual beliefs.

Bernie will be the same way, once his (crack)pipe dream of the getting the Dem nomination is crushed again (you think he'd have learned his lesson three years ago).
