Esper brought nothing to his office. No presence. No ideas. No solutions. He spent his time treading water, undermining the POTUS and hoping for a pat on the head from other swamp rats. It’s hard to believe he possess the skill to craft treachery without professional help.

quote:

Has globalism gotten so bad that "protect the country you're in" is an exotic and incomprehensible concept?

quote:

Former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, who served in the role under former President Trump, recalled a “ridiculous” plan made during the Trump administration to send a quarter of a million troops to the U.S.’s southern border in a “60 Minutes” interview to be released Sunday.

quote:

It’s just so absurd I can’t even consider it,” Esper continued after saying that people in his department were working on the plan to send a quarter million troops to the border.
“Again, we don’t have 250,000 troops to send to the border, and to do what?” continued Esper. “It’s just ridiculous.”

quote:

The United States military, and I know this is a difficult concept for Esper, was brought into being to protect the nation's borders from foreign invasion.

quote:

What does a country do when millions of foreigners invade it? Maybe Esper can study some military history to look at the possibilities. What could one possibly do with the military to prevent huge numbers of people from invading it?
Don't ask Esper. He can't even understand the nature of the question.

Yep. They always use their circular logic to justify.

Immigration is a “federal issue” (not for the individual border states to decide!!) but they (the federal government) have had/continue to have zero interest in stemming the flow of illegal immigration. Military? That’s preposterous!!

Esper is simply another symptom of the problem in DC. Neither Dems or eGOP have bothered enforcing existing law for decades now.

More votes for Dems and cheap labor for eGOP types. They have zero intent to do anything about this. It should be more than obvious by now.

Trump tried to do something about it and they (DC) did not like it one bit. They got rid of Trump and now it’s back to business as usual (on steroids).

I mean honestly we didn't need to send troops there. They just needed to complete construction of the wall. And Trump was stonewalled over a few billion dollars. Meanwhile look at the absolute heap of money this administration has wasted since then.

Trump surrounded himself with warmongering globalist swamp rats. His biggest failure was staff appointments.

Sending troops to stand guard where our country is being invaded from is baffling only to our enemies who want to see us fall.

How was Trump supposed to know how overtly these people known at the time as top guys to consider would end up being treasonous devils?? I think the extent of the sass Trump received took us all off guard in a big way.

Really?

I mean, REALLY?

Because, I gotta tell you…he sure as hell seemed to understand the notion of using troops to protect Joe Biden’s inauguration.

MTG would fit in well as defense secretary. I'm all for change. These career D.C.people like Esper are just scum.

Well, he is a liar because we have a over a million person Army include Guard and Reserves.

quote:

the end-strength authorized in the fiscal 2022 bill — to 473,000. Maintain the Army National Guard's current strength of 336,500 and the Army Reserve's 189,500 troops.

ETA: When you start a discussion with a blatant lie, the rest of the discussion is simply BS.

Good grief. Imagine a SEFDEF unwilling to use the military to defend the US.

Whose interests are these people representing? It’s clearly not the US’s. The very definition of subversive.

Our defense isn’t for defending our territory. That’s just crazy ridiculous. No, our defense is for fighting other countries’ wars and defending their territories and offensively invading other countries around the world. That’s the sensible, grown up way to run things.

And the majority here will blindly vote for him again when a much better GOP option will be available.

"He'll do better the second time!"

People don't understand that a lot of qualified people don't want to work for him.

The same swamp rats will be there. It doesn’t matter if it’s Desantis. They will undermine and sabotage him too. Desantis May be able to do a few things, whatever the GOPe wants, but he’ll be kept in check. The deep state will still run things in general.
