“The chief business of the American people is business,” President Calvin Coolidge once said. One hundred years later, Americans’ chief business increasingly is managing racial and sexual politics through the ideology of “diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

These initiatives are no longer limited to high-technology firms in the coastal enclaves; they have spread to traditionally conservative sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, insurance, and oil and gas. The result is clear: every major corporation in the United States has submitted to DEI ideology and begun to make it a permanent part of its legal and human resources bureaucracy.

Conservatives’ goal should not be to point out the executives’ hypocrisy but to change their incentives in order to change their behavior. This goal is eminently feasible. In recent months, Florida governor Ron DeSantis has begun to develop a model for challenging the hegemony of the DEI bureaucracy. He has abandoned the traditionally Republican premise of corporate non-intervention and embraced a more muscular, Teddy Roosevelt-style strategy for combatting corporate malfeasance. Last year, he passed the Stop W.O.K.E. Act, which prohibits companies from promoting critical race theory-style scapegoating, stereotyping, and harassment. Next, he won a high-profile fight with Walt Disney Co., stripping the company of its special governing status and dealing a significant blow to its public reputation.

These actions in Florida have already had a ripple effect nationally. Corporate executives have been wondering about how to “avoid becoming the next Walt Disney Co.” Some firms, including Netflix, have laid off diversity, equity, and inclusion employees—in anticipation of economic headwinds, no doubt, but also because the recent controversies around DEI more generally have opened up the space to do so.

Conservatives need to build on these efforts by developing a comprehensive agenda for pushing back against left-wing ideology in corporate America.

We start all of our meetings with a few items, but one is a DEI tip.

Gotta keep those ESG scores up in order to have access to capital.

This is exactly what Odumbf*ck and Valerie Jarrett have been doing. They've been blackmailing and extorting every company and law firm in America to adopt this racist, unconstitutional, f*cking garbage.

Once a company agrees to this f*cking racist bullsh!t, they are then used to blackmail and extort other companies. It’s been going on in law firms for years. Now that Biden is in the White House, they can use the force and power of the federal government to extort and blackmail even further.

Do you really think that these companies and law firms believe in hiring and promoting under-qualified morons just because of their skin color?

ESG scores are the direct root cause of a LOT of America's problems. They need to be banned and the people implementing them need to be sent to prison for the rest of their lives.

Nothing will change in this country until ESG is rooted out and banished to the shadow realm.

I work for a fortune 500 company. I spent 3 hours yesterday doing online DEI training.

I feel so much more inclusive and diverse now.

Every month, we get a DEI update from our chief diversity offficer.

I set up filters that move all these emails immediately to trash, so they never clutter my inbox.

I have a hard time imagining anyone caring about this crap.

You should protest and say requiring attendance at work does not equal a celebration. Celebrations can only happen at home

Frustrating, but European investors are driving a lot of this stuff. It'll be interesting how much they care now that everyone isn't making money hand over fist.

I enjoy seeing historically disadvantaged enterprises gaming the system. If you’re a minority or woman business owner, you can get any supply contract you want. I’ve seen larger corporations use a disadvantaged enterprise just to subcontract out to the original vendor. They tack on 10% and keep getting all the work.

Employ the best person for the job and STFU!

That is what these corporations need to do, period.

I work for a fortune 100 utility company. Safety First is plastered on every slogan we have. Honestly, safety is a very important priority to the company. I’ll say this tho, every safety meeting has a DE&I section, never seen a safety topic in a DE&I meeting however…
