No way even a Democratic Congress will support upwards of 90% in taxes for the upper tax bracket. A majority of Democrats in Congress don’t even support the Green New Deal. They’re not so dumb that they don’t realize how destructive these policies are.

If wins, it'll be with Russian aid and in that instance, Trump should remain in office.

I agree but there is some historical precedent in this country of this actually being the case

During some years in the 50s the top marginal rate was above 90%

I’ve been waiting for this post. It’s this kind of dim-witted thinking that’s going to cost us our reign as the greatest country in world history.

Let’s say he goes for Medicare for All, as it’s the most expensive and the biggest campaign pledged by far. What Dems vote against it?

Our place in history is cemented....like Rome, Great Britain, etc.....

Staying "the greatest country in world history" is another matter altogether.

There were so many loopholes in the tax code back then that it didn’t have a significant impact on the economy. People could claim an exemption on almost anything, so the rich largely got off without paying that rate. Even today, the wealthy would find ways around the system if it were that high.

If Bernie is nominated, that is exactly what the DNC talking point will be. It will be all over CNN, PMSNBC, Meet the Depressed, DeFace the Nation, etc.

The MSMs irrational and demented hatred of all things Trump has painted them into this corner.

Either you’re trolling or really stupid. Most people fell asleep behind the wheel when “Mr Fundamental Change” took power. Bernie is not talking fundamentally - he’s talking a complete remodel.

I didn't know they would strip him of his right to issue executive orders.

Just as there are now

I'd doubt many people would pay that rate as ordinary income. People will always find a way around those things.

A former President had a pen and a phone. Don't discount the amount of frickery that can happen without Congress being on board.

Just because no huge socialist legislation would get passed doesn't mean a Sanders administration wouldn't be a disaster.

1. He would issue a series of executive orders that would be amongst the most extreme and devestating ever.

2. All his judicial nominees would be lunatics. The Senate would have to let a few through eventually.

3. All construction on the wall would immediately cease. The only reason it's underway is because of Trump's sheer will.

4. His foreign policy/military decisions would make Jimmy Carter look like Rambo.
