BuzzFeed News

Former attorney general Eric Holder said that he anticipates a blue wave in 2018, but that it may not have the political impact Democrats want because of Republican gerrymandering — the effects of which he is trying to reverse.

“I think it’s going to be a blue wave, but I think the Democrats should understand that that blue wave is going to be running headlong into this gerrymandered system, and the question is whether or not that wave will actually reach the shore,” said Holder, who said he wants to focus on increasing Democratic margins.

Obama: "We might not pick up as many seats as expected due to the Republicans not playing by the rules. They aren't supposed to be effective. In fact, I had a deal in place with their leadership to give them a place at the table so long as they didn't push too hard. Trump is the worst."

Wouldn't be funny if the new districts still went for the GOP due to low Dem turnout?

if that happens, Trump will be able to steamroll his agenda through in the last 2 years of his 1st term

Uh huh. The only changes in districts for 2018 are in Pennsylvania and were done by court order to be more favorable to the Dems.

That means a built in advantage for them this cycle as far as gaining seats.

If you can’t win a majority of House seats despite retirements and redistricting in your favor, maybe your fricking platform and policies need work.

Blaming it on gerrymandering means it isn’t getting any better until 2022 and even then Republicans control a lot of statehouses between legislative chambers and the governor’s mansion.

Blue Wave keeps sounding more dumb by the day especially if the job numbers keep looking like it has up until November. So if it does happen, is it because Trump is a big meanie?
