It means more work for Congress. Which is something they absolutely hate

Does this mean less regs for oil and gas?

There may be a change in the amount or types of regulations, but said regulations have to come from congress, not the executive branch.
This is a good verdict. Congress has deferred authority to the executive branch for years causing us to move away from being governed by elected representatives and toward being governed by unelected bureaucrats.

OK, so what was the verdict specifically?

It's still early, but basically it means that federal agencies can't just assume extra power by fiat.
One specific phrasing caught my eye. The EPA was attempting to restrict coal refineries based on holding them to levels of CO2 being a toxic pollutant, yet the EPA doesn't even classify it as a toxic (or "criteria") air pollutant.
even deeper than that
if congress didn't authorize board of ed to initiate CRT/wokism, they can't, its done
if the congress did not specify laws on guns, ATF can NOT make them up
if congress didn't pass laws on drugs and their use, bye bye fda over reach
continue in that line of thought,
thats how big this is

UDTiger has a nice thread on this, showing a part of Gorsuch's concurrence.

Plus now they have to answer for the regs to the voters.
Also, less time for grandstanding.
I'm looking at you, Jan 6 committee.

This is a great step in the right direction but unfortunately they are about 300-400 power plant closings too late.

Hopefully the ATF will get a piece of those lawsuits too.

Worse than that they will have to go on record and vote, they hate that far more than working.
