Sky Sports pundits Jamie Redknapp and Patrice Evra ditched their Black Lives Matter badges last night as football captains considered making a statement on the movement which the Premier League has distanced itself from.

quote:

Since the league resumed, guests appearing on Sky Sports have worn the badges with the campaign phrase after all 20 clubs agreed to emblazon 'Black Lives Matter' on their shirts for the first round of games following the Covid-19 break.

Players and officials have also 'taken the knee' before matches, a symbol which was adopted by American athletes to protest police brutality and racism in 2016 and which has been used by Black Lives Matter protesters across the world since the killing of George Floyd.

But concerns have been raised after a series of tweets by the UK branch of Black Lives Matter which criticised Israel and called on the British government to 'defund the police'.

On Tuesday, the Premier League said it recognised 'the importance of the message that black lives matter' but made clear that it 'does not endorse any political organisation or movement, nor support any group that calls for violence or condones illegal activity.'

They’re all hypocrites claiming they didn’t know what BlM the organization stands for

It’s anti Semite, defund the police, and a bunch of other bullshite in the UK.

Tattoo that on Roger Godell's forehead. It is big enough to fit.

Been that way from the beginning. It just goes to show you that people do things via emotions and not facts. Once they realize its a terrorist org then they want to walk it back.

LOL I called this last week. These businesses all tripping all over themselves to virtue signal are just giving away their brand management to an organization they can't control.

These marketing firms are going to end up fricking every client they have.

This stuff isn’t new. This is who they have always been.

They still support cases that are not supportive to their messaging and support false narratives, such as Martin, Brown, and Sterling.

Also the organization created the slogan in their movement.

It’s a movement not an organization.

That one is my favorite.

This is what I think some people are starting to realize

Saying ‘black people’s lives matter’ is not the same as the BLM movement

The BLM movement (defund the police, destroy family units and western society) has managed to camouflage itself behind a rather innocent saying (black people matter).

A lot of folks think they are supporting black folks, but are actually supporting a organization that has evolved to having nothing to do with black people

I wouldn't say that. Most people are ignorant to what the BLM organization actually is. Hopefully they're waking up.
