'Empire' tanking in the ratings in the aftermath of Smolett's racism hoax

As The Wrap noted last week, the midseason premiere results signaled a 35% drop in the demo and a 29% drop in total viewers compared to the same time last year. The total viewers for the first episode back were also about 600,000 viewers fewer (a 13% drop) than the fall finale on December 5.

I know Queen Latifah said to date she hadn't seen anything that proved Jussie was lying. Don't know about the cast, but there are still plenty of folks with their head buried in the sand.

my first thoughts are this was all him doing a keapernick to get attention to get money out of it and it backfired on him but the show doesnt deserve to suffer over one minor character acting a fool.
but if they are that blind and racist to still be standing behind him and supporting then they are just as bad as he is and they dont deserve to have a show so i hope it does get canceled and go away
