Could we start seeing more of these types of movements? (Though they won't actually go anywhere)

Wasn’t there a town which tried to leave Vermont for New Hampshire or vice versa some years ago?

Hard to do when you don’t have the numbers.

Wouldn't this be "eastward?" Idaho is east of Oregon.

You move the border to the west, so that the eastern part of Oregon becomes part of Idaho.

The Idaho border would expand west into the eastern half of Oregon.

They need to stay. Oregon is part of the popular vote compact to give its electoral votes to the popular vote winner.

The Rs in those states need to go to the polls and help Trump get over the top in the popular vote.

If Trump wins the popular vote, then that stupid compact will go the way of the dinosaurs with the quickness, or the Dems will come up with some incredible new methods of cheating. Either way, it will be glorious to watch the immense sky screaming that will ensue.

Does anyone understand that entering into a compact with another state is unconstitutional and therefore, illegal? Why do you keep giving credence to this as if it is a legitimate threat. Commerce clause...read about it.

75% of the population lives in the western 1/3 of the state.

The compact only triggers if 270 EVs worth of states sign up.

All the states which have signed so far are generally hard blue states which haven’t gone red since 2004 or earlier. Minnesota hasn’t gone red since 1972 IIRC.

I am not versed in county rights, so are they even able to do that?

I have family there as well. They're about as red as you can be without being alt-right.

And you're absolutely correct. Even in their rural area, they keep their political beliefs to themselves and between a few very close, like-minded neighbors.

They all fear being outspoken because the city extremists will descend upon them and harass them relentlessly. It happens.

I think he did that with most states.

Idaho in particular comes to mind in that situation though given the little girl which got raped by a bunch of Muslim immigrants which got memory holed by the authorities there.

None of these movements will work. But they are the first signs of what I said will eventually happen in the United States

This country is going to balkanize. frankly anyone who doubts that isn't very astute in my mind. The only question is when.

I'm not sure about my children but I feel pretty confident that my grandchildren will live to see a United States that does not have 50 states

Anything can be accomplished with courage and resolve. Make a plan that works, vote on it, and stand your ground.
