I guess the shutdown didn't have as positive an affect on climate as predicted...

I hate to be that guy, but the record year was 2016. 1880 is the year of the first official record. So second highest since it has officially been recorded starting in 1880.

I agree that low temps have been higher here where I live, but the high, temps have been pretty low, compared to most years. I don't think that we have hit 80 yet.
