Earl Graves Sr., the trailblazing champion of black business and founder of Black Enterprise magazine, died Monday. He was 85.

His son, Earl “Butch” Graves Jr., announced the passing via social media Tuesday, saying his dad died after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s.

RIP.

Those unfamiliar should read his resume.

On top of all of his entrepreneurial work, he was also CEO of Pepsi and national commissioner of the Boy Scouts.

Wiki

A truly self-made businessman and gentleman who was born into a society that actively sought to void both of those aspirations.

Considering nursing facilities and above average infections in some and the fact he has Alzheimer's, it not that bad. My m-i-l passed away in Sept. from it and the wife is very thankful that the woman is not having to go through this. She was 85 also.

To be clear, I gave an upvote in honor of this fine man, not because of the news that he died!
