The only way to make elections fair would be for each state to have one electoral vote.

It would take Florida, NY and California totally out of play for democrats.

Actually it is an interesting concept. It would make every state equal in terms of importance.

Not saying I am for it. Just interesting

The more populous states must have meaning too. The beauty of our system is that it balances all the states almost perfectly.

Changing the system is a cheap way to avoid doing the hard work of changing minds

So you think Rhode Island should be just as important as Texas?

1 state 1 vote. Interesting concept but wouldn't that make an individual's vote count for less than it does now?

If you do in fact understand it, then you are looking at only the positives and not the negatives.

For every vote you take away from NY and CA, you give right back up to WA, OR, VT, RI, CO etc. Plus you lose TX

What would the tie breaker be in that scenario? It could be a 25/25 split

Is this one of those hare-brained ideas that we are urged to not post on the board??

I think so.

Thats why the founding fathers were before their time. They thought of every possible scenario, just about, where their system could be manipulated. Then they put in safe guards to make sure that didnt happen, or at least was hard as hell to change it.

This is a really terrible idea. Awful.

But Trump wins 29-21 in 2016. And Dems still flip their shite about the unfair system.
