Draining the swamp: Trump's close friend dumped steel-related stock before the tariffs
quote:

Billionaire investor and longtime Trump confidant Carl Icahn dumped $31.3 million of stock in a company heavily dependent on steel last week, just days before Trump announced plans to impose steep tariffs on steel imports.

Trump’s announcement tanked the market, with steel-dependent stocks hardest hit. The stock value of Manitowoc, the firm from which Icahn bailed, plunged, losing about 6 percent of its value.

Impeccable timing, indeed.

Dude, did you listen to his campaign speeches?

Anyone who did knew this was coming.

An ice machine company?

Half of manufacturing depends on steel and aluminum. Did Ichan dump his stock in all companies using those materials, or are you cherry picking data?

Trump's money laundering is coming under increasing scrutiny, so I guess insider trading is the next best thing.

I wonder what's next?

Candy from babies, I guess

Wait. You think a billionaire is going to engage in something nefarious to save 1.8 million? You think Trump is going to endure the scrutiny to save his friend 1.8 million. You have lost your damn mind, Rex.

Tanked the market? If I invested in "X" (US Steel corp) at the beginning of the year id only be up 50% right now, since the announcement it dropped 1.35%

Smart move. He has laid his plan out since the campaign trail. And everyone knew this announcement was coming beforehand. But I am sure this is it...you have got him now. What melt day are you on, I can't keep up!!!!

To be fair, the Commerce department issues their findings on steel and aluminum tariffs on February 16th.
