PSA tests (blood) are the method now, or the old way of a doctor giving you a prostate massage with their fingers.
Did they find that the usual panel of the yearly physical blood draw would show PSA levels, or an indication for a specific blood panel?

Cancer cells need energy to divide and replicate so in theory a high sugar diet with an active cancer diagnosis would possibly speed up growth. Maybe that’s why they gave him ice cream? Jk, however it is possible to not know you have cancer until it is too late and happens more than many on here would care to admit

Aggressive forms of prostate cancer exist and PSA levels alone don’t always tell the story. It would require a relatively painful biopsy and Gleason score

Many urologists are moving away from the rectal exam because it can inflame your prostate, just monitoring PSA levels.
