Dr. Avegno: "Marching against systemic racism is not the same as your pool party"

Dr. Jennifer Avegno, the doctor in charge of the covid response for the city of New Orleans (also: an ER doctor, not a specialist in infectious diseases) was on WWL this morning.
When asked about protests and covid and how it may be hypocritical to allow these protests and block other gatherings said that quote above.
She then went on to explain that she thought protestors were wearing masks and social distancing enough, and then because they were marching for such a just cause, it was perfectly fine.
Really.
No follow up question on how a virus knows your cause is righteous.

Anyone else find comparing a black themed march to a pool party racist?

Enablers like this are a major reason that New Orleans has become a 4th world shithole.
Ask the good doctor’s opinion on the public health effects of leaving a couple of rotting corpses up in a crumbling building for almost 8 months.

As a medical doctor, it’s the same exact thing. COVID doesn’t care if you’re protesting or getting a BJ in the pool. Exposure is exposure

One month ago, they said that protest marches in favor of re-opening states would result in massive COVID death spikes, therefore protests = bad.
Now protests are okay because muh black feelings.
Gee, it is almost as if there is an agenda to actively suppress the political Right.

Yep. Looks about like you’d expect. A Karen with just a dash of hippie thrown in to keep it real.

Corona is an extremely smart virus. It knows that protest are not the place to be spread so it stays away

OK, I'm getting old but I read that as 'Dr. Avengo' and thought it might be about some scientist who goes after the thugs who murdered his wife.
I was disappointed when I clicked on it.
