I grew up near Plains (my dad is a Peanut farmer, not the politician type, though), and drove thru there dozens and dozens of times en route to Americus (I lived there for a few years).

You'd often see Jimmy riding a bike, with secret service following behind on their bikes. This wasn't a rare thing, it was just a thing.

One of the SS agents' had a birthday party (friends of the family), and Jimmy popped in to wish him happy birthday, and spent a while making the rounds, talking to anyone that he came across.

You could be at a restaurant, and he'd come in, and talk to EVERYONE. He honestly is about the nicest human being on the planet. (regardless of politics)
