Nope. We have the right to assemble. Edwards can blow that EO out his nose.

It’s vaguely worded that it can be interpreted either state or other gatherings.

I had the same thought. I do not know how that could be enforced.

Or Plants, factories, offices etc?? This is going to have very, very substantial consequences to our economy.

I'm prepared to watch the stock market go down even further down than 2000 points tomorrow.

I’m sure it does. The churches were going to suspend mass anyway.

Have many friends in different European countries. Restaurants and bars closed. Grocery stores opened limited hours each day.

Those are excluded.

quote:

The proclamation bans all gatherings of 250 people or more "in a single space at the same time where individuals will be in close proximity to one another." It does not apply to normal operations at places like airports, medical facilities, shopping malls, offices, factories or grocery stores.

No specific exception for churches.

And one the courts can't necessarily avoid (as it falls under an exception to the mootness doctrine being a case which is expected to reoccur, yet evade review).

Now if a church wants to cancel services so as not to spread COVID-19, that's another issue. My church (Prestonwood) just announced we're cancelling and going solely online this weekend. (So for all Jack Graham fans online, if your church isn't meeting or having online services, join us!)

No cop will enforce that.

The most would effect is no permits for parades and whatnot will be issued.

It would be nice if people reporting, posting or talking about a discrete document would provide a LINK to the damned document. It took three Google searches to FIND the thing.

Basically, it excludes “normal operations” any regularly-conducted activity, which probably removes churches from its scope and which largely renders it ambiguous, unenforceable and utterly useless.
