So for my backstory, I’m born and raised in the south, mid 30s.. was always apathetic about politics. Even when Obama was elected and it was blatantly obvious, even for people who didn’t follow politics, that the media and certain political entities wanted to start dividing the country by identity politics.

Enter Donald Trump.. at first, I was skeptical (I’m talking pre-2016 election).. but the more and more that I heard of his platform, I found myself to be a supporter.... you can fill in the blanks from here

fast forward to today.. after going from not following politics and not giving a a shite one way or another, to opening my eyes, paying attention, doing a little research over the years, I’ve come to the conclusion that 95% of politicians from either side no longer give a shite about their constituents, and only seek to further their own careers and/or secure votes to ensure their own employment

Politics are no longer about doing the right thing or making quality of life better. It’s all become about appeasing certain voting groups to ‘ensure’ political success. And the only thing constant is that the every day person is frickED

I could go on and on, but I won’t. I guess I was just wondering if anyone else feels like I do, and basically ‘frick all these people’

Yes. Wish I could be in a hole in the ground in Hobbiton and just get smashed at the Green Dragon. That's where I want to be.

I despise it and very, very rarely even come to this board. Have given up politics for Lent as they disgust my spirit

It seems like politics for us is just complaining while we get abused and spit on. Following everything only makes us depressed, more aware of how shitty and crooked the whole country us, and doesn't change anything.

Other than scanning this forum, I've checked out. There's no point in following politics or tuning in to the media to get your news.

You know.. I never really cared about politics until these past few years...

But when Trump went into office and I saw how the Democrats have acted it sort of opened my eyes to a lot of things.

Now I see people reading stories about transgenders to third graders, drag queens readin to toddlers in libraries.. and story after story how everybody is a white supremist because they are republicans, or voted for Trump, or just think that Professional athletes should not be teaching our kids that our Flag, country and our history is not great.

I see people in politics yelling defund the police and then see crime rates spiraling out of control, and instead of admitting they were wrong or trying to correct the situation they point fingers and blame society as systematic racism as the cause of it.

I am still seeing a left leaning politicians try to turn us more and more socialist while advancing China on their goal to become the number one dominating power in the world while not seemingly giving a crap about the struggles of our own Nation through our own manufacturing to provide for ourselves. I am seeing more and more of our farmland being sold to China.

I am very interested in politics now, because I am really concerned that out country is going down the drain faster than a duck to water.

I see children that I suspect are still living at home with their parents -playing video games- marching in protests saying that our country needs to change and we need this and that, but yet not knowing what they really need because they are not paying a mortgage or even holding a steady job but the temptation of free stuff without the thoughts of how it's paid for seems idiotic.

Yes. I am paying close attention to politics... Because I am gravely concerned about what was once a lovely country that people fought and died for, caravans of immigrants are traveling thousands of miles to get here and then warn us not to become like the country that they left... That it concerns me greatly.

Politics haven't been that way since the Founding Fathers and even then, I suspect there was some shenanigans.

I think the lefts plan is to have all the conservatives not follow politics any more as they are all disgusted. That is the last thing we need. Stay active!

I've realized that NATIONAL 'politics' - debate and voting - will not be what determines the future of this Nation, because, both debate and voting have become corrupt. This is what you have also realized, RG...and it's depressing because the abandonment of debate and voting only leaves TWO choices for redress of grievance. Such being, acquiesce to the will of a corrupt Majority (Democracy, pure version, of the which the Constitution nullified)...or....nullify Democracy ("mob rule") via Second Amendment means. The latter is oft alluded to in Constitutional principle discourse. But of course, the Opposition labels such as 'Insurrection'; though IRL, it is those who promote PURE DEMOCRACY who have abandoned Constitutional Principle of God-given Rights which can NOT be nullified by the will of a Majority.

There is somewhat a chance of controlling Local politics; but as the 'Government' controls printing of money which is then allocated to Local Government and Private Retirement Income as well...well...not rocket science to see where power lies. But this power is only realized UNTIL the 'money printing' collapses; which it must and will. When...nobody knows. And when it does, the Dems will look to a Global Monetary Mechanism to establish a new, Monetary Exchange System. Enter the Book of Revelation's "White Horse", if one is a believer in Christian Eschatology; and the collapse of said Global Monetary System as being the impetus for massive, societal calamity.

And you thought yours was "long".

IMO, go to your Faith, Brother...if you have any. If you don't, get some. Eternity is a long time. What happens in a few years of relative Human imperfection is irrelevant, but for the (positive) effect such may have on building Character via the educational process.

The dumbest thing about politics that so many idiots fail to realize is that we already know the talking points of both sides, and yet, people continue to get sucked into the drivel.
