I don’t even know how to exist in our society anymore. I’m 34 but even I don’t recognize the America we live in. Nothing makes sense anymore. There’s no ‘normal’. Even the 90s and early 00s weren’t like this. There’s corruption everywhere. Why am I even paying taxes for this?

Totally lost. Our society is broken. Most disturbing is that everyone seems to recognize but we are so defeated that nobody cares.

It's that feeling you get when you aren't sick yet, but you realize you are getting sick.

We are getting ready to fight the sickness.

I don’t watch the news. I have no social media at all. All deleted. Still doesn’t change our broken system.

ETA: My news comes from TD because I know it’s not filtered shite.

This ^^^ is why the American Marxists have gained the upper hand….people trying to ignore what’s coming.

- Get off social media
- Stop paying for cable/satellite
- Focus on family, friends, and opportunities
- Try and prepare for bad things... independent as much as possible
- Enjoy every day in some way... as much as possible

You are going down the rabbit hole, that makes you a mad (crazy) person... how do I know you're mad... they're all mad down there.

quote:

“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad." "How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.” ? Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

It sounds like you've concluded that moving out of this country is the only option. I couldn't agree more.

Not saying to NOT come back, but you have to step back and enjoy why America is so great to realize its worth fighting for.

Take a break from news and politics for a few days.

Take a walk outside if it's nice.

Find a pub or restaurant with outside seating and sit out with some friends and eat a good meal or drink some beers.

Who said ignoring problems, social media and the news isn't the real world.

Checked a few of your profile details. I’m supposing that you’re likely a Gender Studies grad from USM. Your twaddle seems under thought, mainly based on erroneous assumptions, and is undoubtedly why you’re likely employed at such a shitty educational institution or affiliated with somehow. Your colleagues are all working at better institutions while you’re trolling to make yourself feel better.

ETA: Is it Trans? Knew it was probably something affiliated with confusion about gender. Honestly, I don’t blame him. Probably a kid that doesn’t know any better. Confusion and dysmorphia are all all time highs bc kids have been raised in this. It is probably > 23

Felt that way in California after Trump was elected. Had to watch what I said. Shocked at what long time friends said.

Now we are in Northwest Arkansas.

I just find myself sad and missing my old neighborhood in the Bay Area from when my kids grew up. It was nice when my kids were little. I miss my old friends. Most aren't there anymore.

I haven't made many new friends yet. At least I'm close to my family and friends in Dallas. And 2 of my kids also moved to Arkansas.

It's a strange time.

It doesn't sound like that at all. If you want to run with your tail tucked between your legs then get to running but don't expect confirmation bias to your cowardice. Go try another country then get back to us!

Since I'm a tad older, and Nov. 22 was the anniversary of a bad day in Dallas, I'll add my 2cents. No, I wasn't around then, but some years later, when learning about that recent bad history, naturally I saw all the footage of the sorrow and pain the nation went through. So naturally, that's how I perceived the past. EVERYONE, I imagined, was devastated.

Not so. I was stunned to learn of actual celebrations and cheers upon hearing the news of what went down that day. It confused me that anyone, especially any American, could be glad such a thing happened.

That was nearly 60 years ago, and I must say... I kinda get it.
