That the Democrats control the House. Why do you believe he is going to get a great spending bill? It is going to be a compromise no matter what.

And I support most Trump policies.

No we've been in a coma since the '16 elections

Great spending bills don't exist....I'm 59 and there's never been one in my life.

Compromise is a subjective word. Do I think the bill is a POS? Yep they all are. Should he sign it and declare a natty emergency to build the wall? Yep, he should have done this 2 months ago.

And that a near-NeverTrumper runs the Senate. Trump forcing McConnell to the Senate Floor assenting to Executive Emergency action was huge. McConnell handed over Legislative Powers to the Executive Branch in that exchange. It was something he had no intention of doing.

Ryan was establishment lock, stock, and barrel. There is far too much money to be made from cheap illegal labor and drugs for our politicians, whom are 99% bankrolled by big business, to ever do anything about this.

If they were serious about this problem congress would make laws killing any and all incentive to hire illegal workers while concomitantly rolling back policies that encourage indolence within our own population.

But noooo. Too many votes are dependent on hand outs and cheap labor. Thats the bottom line.

Trump is a rare man but he can't do it alone. Is he trying? Sure. But this monster started sprouting with Wilson (avowed socialist and former college president before US president), was fed by FDR (full blown socialist, social welfare), put on steroids by JFK (made government employee unions legal) and LBJ (great society) and here we are today. You don't kill a hydra like that in 2 years.

Yes, government is much smaller today but thanks to tech and shitty laws its much more pervasive than it has ever been in the country's history.

The hardcore Right seems to believe they can live in a democracy as an electoral minority and yet never have to compromise. When the internal conflicts in that POV manifest themselves, they're quick to abandon democracy.

Neither party seems to support our constitutional government framework anymore. Rather than live within the constraints of two party compromise, work arounds are now normal. Executive orders, shutdowns and emergencies are dangerous precedents leading us down a dark road.
