Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday expressed opposition to the controversial Pebble Mine project, which moved a step closer to reality after the conclusion of an environmental assessment last month.
"The headwaters of Bristol Bay and the surrounding fishery are too unique and fragile to take any chances with. #PebbleMine," the president's son tweeted.

DJTJR is a known conservationist so this shouldn’t be a surprise

The Republican party has the perfect chance to become the party of environmentalism by pointing out that leaving/movingvbusinesses to china and other third world shitholes is the #1 cause of destruction of the environment. Plus China is raping the Galapagos islands and oceans the seas with overfishing.

Seems to bring Mt. Rushmore 4th of July & Teddy Roosevelt more into focus, and perhaps that's why Sen. Lamar presented Trump with the BIG walking stick today.
Trump going after the environmental votes- i.e. those who have actually been outside in it and respect it. Not just those who want to use environmental alarmism as yet another dim fear tactic to gain more power.

Don Jr is a pretty avid angler when he’s not on the campaign trail. Not really surprising that he sides with protecting an important fishery.

The Pearl river is number 7?

I've got mixed emotions about strip mining. It's one thing out in the deserts and like in SW Colorado where you can control the tailing runoff.
The head waters of Bristol Bay might be a little different.

I’ve always maintained that conservatives do more for the environment and our wild places than the left ever has.
I agree with him.
