The timing of his interview with Pier Morgan was not an accident.
It is becoming clear that Desantis is not who he claims to be. Every indicator now shows him to be a deep state shill. All the far left goons on twitter are praising him now.
He should have been less obvious and he might have gotten away with it. He got reckless though with the Piers interview and outed himself.

But why wouldn't any rational person defend DeSantis from the claim that he's colluded with Bragg? Other than some fever dream or an attempt to start a rumor, where the frick does that suggestion even come from?

Your main point is ridiculous but it's not debatable that the Piers Morgan interview is a puff piece and the fact that it's being hyped in Rupert Murdoch's New York post is certainly no accident.
