The UAW Sunday morning called a nationwide strike against General Motors, set to start at midnight.

It's the first national UAW strike since 1982.

Time to move some auto production to another country again.

Negotiating with the UAW must be one of the worst jobs in America.

Didn’t Reagan fire Air Traffic Controllers for striking?

Might be Trumps turn?

According to Scotty Kilmer, a YouTuber who has forgotten more about cars than 98% of us will ever know, GM was making decent cars at one time but now their product is horrible.

Based on that, I wouldn't buy a GM car even though I actually like some of the Buick models.

Yeah, might've asked them to do some actual work. "Them's fighting words" in a union auto plant.

If our governor wasn't such a fricking shill for the unions, he'd be making a call and offering up some incentives to get a plant in Louisiana.

I wouldn't be afraid to buy a Corvette, or Camaro, or any vehicle that is Rear wheel drive. I would stay away from any FWD models though.

Doesn’t the UAW have controlling interest in GM?

I have a vague recollection of either W or Barry leaving the inmates in charge of the asylum.

The fact that Gary Jones still heads up the UAW is disturbing. The man is accused of embezzling union money.

If a deal is not reached tonight, I can see GM holding firm for a while.

I remember Barry and Co. fricking over secured bondholders to the benefit of the UAW during the sham of a bankruptcy for GM in 2009.

I work with a guy who got a penny on the dollar. He was retired at the time.

UAW has arbitrarily decided that Big Business just makes too much money. Bad, bad Big Business. How dare they.

That's hitting the nail on the head. Jones is desperately trying to remain relevant to the rank and file.

He is willing to play with the worker's future just to appear to be their savior when he is little more than another union thief.

Straight up fricking theft.

Surprised some of those people didn't seek reprisals.
