We bucked him every step of the way.”
DeSantis also blamed Trump’s FBI and DHS for extralegal actions taken against Americans, claiming that Trump did not have control over his agencies and stating that someone within a hypothetical DeSantis administration would have been swiftly fired for such actions.
Continuing, DeSantis disagreed with the First Step Act, a criminal-justice-reform bill enacted during the Trump administration, referring to it as a “jailbreak” bill. He claimed that dangerous individuals were being released from prison without proper rehabilitation, leading to subsequent offenses and causing harm to others.
As president, DeSantis stated his intention to seek the repeal of the First Step Act and emphasized the importance of individuals serving their full prison sentences.

Trump was soft. Stood side by side with Fauci. Did not drain the swamp and handed out our tax dollars on covid checks like flyers at church. He will get up there for rallies and say the same thing over and over again and his puppy dogs will lap it up. Its time to make way for BDR

Trump failed on several things as President. He also succeeded in much despite having everyone—including his own party representatives and those who worked for him—fighting him almost every step of the way.

These are all debatable, the weakest stance being immigration, as DJT has the lowest border crossings on record.

We love Trump as an outsider but the downside was that he really had very little understanding of how to govern and the levers of power of DC. Its why the Deep State and the Democrats were so successful in undermining him.

He did a great job with immigration. But it’s clear he trusted the wrong people at times and badly underestimated the severity of how politicized the swamp was.
