Democrats Plans For Taxes

Here’s What May Happen to Your Taxes If Democrats Win the House

* Corporate rate hike, carried interest repeal likely on agenda
* Intra-party squabbles could emerge over SALT, pass-through cut
Republicans thought the historic overhaul that slashed taxes would be one of their main campaign selling points ahead of November elections. Instead, Democrats are talking more about the law -- and how they want to undo it.
In their bid to retake control of Congress, many Democratic candidates are pointing to the $1.5 trillion tax cut -- and what they say are its exclusive benefits for corporations and wealthy individuals -- as a roadblock to expanding benefits like Social Security and Medicare. Chipping away at some of the law’s costly provisions will help to fund those programs, they say.
...
While Democrats are campaigning against the tax cut, Republicans have been quietly shelving it and focusing more on cultural and social issues such as immigration. Polls consistently show less than half of Americans approve of the tax cut.
... some specific targets are emerging from discussions taking place within Democratic circles, including raising the corporate rate above 21 percent and changing the treatment of capital gains and carried interest. Other proposals, like repealing the new cap for state and local tax deductions and modifying the tax break for business owners . . .

It’s almost like a nation of people who don’t understand macroeconomics doesn’t understand macroeconomics.

I don’t think I could ever fathom someone going around saying “vote for me, I want you to give the government more money!” as something people actually rallied around.
Wtf is wrong with these people
Wtf is wrong with these people

While feeling safe and secure it will never become law while Trump is POTUS.

I want to know who they are polling. There is no way someone with a full time job would not approve of the tax cuts.
I always find it suspicious when a politician, or a regular voter for that matter, says they want more taxes. There is a questionable reason behind that.

“You’re getting your taxes lowered by $400.”
“That Guy got $4000.”
“Well, he also paid more in taxes last year than you have in 20 years.”
“I’d rather pay more in taxes!!”
“Ok. Vote Occasio-Cortez.”

These people haven’t filed their taxes under the new law yet and won’t do so until 2019. When they see their refunds, their opinions will change. Should have made the tax cuts retroactive to last year.

Wooohooo let’s let more companies go over seas!
Middle class folks getting an extra $1-3k a year won’t do much. They actually don’t want more money in their pocket.

If the Republicans are actually stupid enough to run away from the tax cuts because of bullshite polls and propaganda they may not deserve to win.
The alternative, as always, is worse, but the Republicans wouldn't deserve to win because they are craven.

Because the demographic they're going after don't pay taxes to begin with.

The problem with this pitch is that I saw my take home pay increase. That actually happened.

Less taxes are paid which means less freebies are given out which means less control the Dems have over their party.

Tax evasion is the most patriotic thing a citizen can do.

I find this hard to believe, would like to see numbers from likely voters on this issue

It benefited me and my company.
And I’m not wealthy.

like I said in the last post; people that actually vote are more likely to support the tax cuts

The "haves" are being outnumbered by the "have nots". Once the scale is tipped the other way this country is gone folks. Every great empire has falling. It chills me to the bone to think how stupid a large portion of this country actually is. I pray that trump wins a second term.
