Democrats introduce legislation to ban gun silencers

The plan is to go for everything they can at once, so that when they don’t get all of it, it was a “compromise,” even though none of it was constitutional from the start.

Watson Coleman called silencers "tools of murder" in a Thursday statement.
"They have no legal application, which is why law enforcement officials around the country have been calling for their elimination," she said, adding that the HEAR Act "will save lives and is part of the common-sense approach to firearms legislation that polls show has widespread support among voters on both sides of the aisle."

The HEAR Act would also authorize a silencer buyback program, give Americans a 90-day grace period after the legislation is enacted to comply and provide limited exceptions for law enforcement and Atomic Energy personnel.
Cosponsors include Democratic Sens. Dianne Feinstein of California, Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Cory Booker of New Jersey, Ed Markey of Massachusetts, and Alex Padilla of California.

Do these dumb fricks not know that silencers are already regulated under the nfa... they are also wildly popular with the night hunting crowd and are quickly becoming mainstream even though they are highly regulated.

why is this even a thing? What the frick do suppressors do to help bad guys?
Posted on 4/16/21 at 12:51 pm to TerryDawg03
I bet they think the suppressors sound like they do on TV. The suppressors still result in noise levels of 120-150 dB.

I love it when politicians talk about banning silencers. Have at it.
Now suppressors on the other hand...

This is one case where the two terms are interchangeable as maxims patent was for a silencer as he was the owner of maxim silencer company making engine mufflers. Company is still in business btw many tugs run their exhaust silencers

No doubt. They literately think it turns the sound of a gunshot into a dart gun.

This is what Democrats do. They whittle away rights a little at a time (if they can't do it all at once) and claim it's for our own good.
How many crimes do they think they're going to prevent or solve by banning these things? It's a useless, symbolic gesture that further erodes 2A rights.
And has been stated, these are already highly regulated.

Yeah, because we know all those mass murderers are all using silencers.

I would love for them to cite one case of a silencer used in a criminal act

Always amazes me how these mentally retarded individuals end up in positions of power.

I wonder how many people are shot with a weapon equpit with a suppressor.
