Democrats Are Losing the Rust Belt Over This
Posted by Buckeye Backer on 2/2/18 at 10:38 pm1334
I come from a long line of Rust Belt, blue collar Democrats. This past election I voted for Donald Trump more than I voted for the Republican ticket. As of now, I couldn't be more supportive of Donald Trump. The best news is this, my father, two grandfathers and the biggest surprise of them all, my mother are ALL planning to vote for Trump in the next election...as of tonight. Tonight at my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, politics came up and things got real interesting. Just when I thought things were going to go their usual route, to my surprise, one after another of my family members shared their disgust with the media and where the democratic party has gone. My one grandfather teared up talking about how far away the democratic party has gotten from the blue collar working families. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I write this because, this is happening all over the Midwest Rust Belt. People in this part of the country hear what democrats say. My grandfather said tonight "when people reveal to you who they are, you take them at their word". He's a Korean War vet and was appalled by Democrats behavior at the SOTU...and then today's news came out and my mother finally has had it. This is the biggest shocker of them all. My mother is the most ardent Democrat in my family, but wouldn't ya know it, she's always had a soft spot for Trump from his days on The Apprentice. After today's revelations, she just can't see past the smear campaign anymore! Wake up Democrats!!! You're losing middle America at an alarming rate!!!

MAGA!!!!

Democrats need a wake up call. Even if it’s this. They need their nose rubbed in it to show what it’s like to lose, because they got too complacent under obama. The minorities got so much attention and praise for just existing that the pendulum swung too far to the left. The absolute meltdown you’re seeing out of the media and left is the effect of a group of people so used to winning that they don’t know how to lose, losing.
And to the liberals -
You’re going to have to break away from the fringe psychos who think having a dick doesn’t necessarily make you male. I don’t care how “progressive” you’re trying to be it’s hurting and you look stupid af.

Heartland made this country great and dems took y’all for granted and then plain took you behind the outhouse and raped you. Not suggesting republicans are the answer but Trump isn’t a typical republican.

I hope some of those factories up there can be re-tooled and converted to textiles because it sounds like we’re gonna need a lot more coats!
to em. Talk about a milestone. We should all be so lucky. God bless ‘em.

SSSSHHHHHHH!!!!! Don't tell them. It is heroic of you to try to help them, but they have already jumped off of the cliff. Now you have to sit back and watch.
It's unbelievable how dumb the dem. leadership, MSM, and rank and file are now. Their lies are so blatantly obvious now, the democrats that have been sleeping for decades are starting to wake up.
Tell all of your relatives to get off the Titanic because it is sinking.
Congrats to you are your family for seeing the light before it's too late.

Everyone feels this way. The party is in shambles and the democrats know it. They are going to come after Trump as hard as they can with made up evidence because it is all they have at this point. They have put themselves in a situation where they must win at all cost and the will get destroyed or start a civil war. It scares me that so many in the nation laugh at the notion of a civil war.

One of the high-level Kek adepts will be along soon to measure your family for coats. Welcome, brother.
On a more serious note, I have been wondering how this all was playing in the Rust Belt because I think that's going to be the warzone for 2020.
Trump's win came directly from your part of the country. He went into the Democrats' back yard and hit Hillary where she was softest (NAFTA) and her response was to ignore it all (even going so far as to not campaign at all in WI and not hit MI until the last month because her team in Brooklyn knew better what was going on in those states than the people on the ground). Manufacturing is taking off, GDP is rocking, Unemployment is down, wages are up and Consumer Confidence is higher than Cheech and Chong at an all-you-can-smoke pot buffet.
Meanwhile the Democrats are responding with scowls at the SOTU over the good news and saying that the extra $1k/yr people are seeing on their checks due to the tax cut doesn't really make a difference.
I bet it makes a fricking difference to you and your family. I bet it makes the same difference to your neighbors and their families.
While it's easy for me to gauge responses here in the Deep South among my varied and diverse friends and neighbors, the Rust Belt is a bit out of my scope. It's great to hear that people there are watching and seeing what we're seeing.

Thanks for the well wishes for my grandparents!!! Think about this...Donald Trump won Ohio by over 420,000 votes. What Democrats are saying and doing aren't relating here anymore. Trump woke up the blue collar Rust Belt to the shitty liberal policies that have been at work here for decades. Democrats don't know what to do or say to us anymore other than...Russia Russia Russia. It was both gratifying and at some level heartbreaking to see my one grandfather acknowledge his party is betraying him.

Nice anecdote and I for one appreciate how heartfelt it is. However, and unfortunately, there are 10 million people in California, 10 million people in New York, etc, etc who would vote for Joe Kennedy III rather than listen to the truth and vote for a Republican. The only good news is that those old white dudes that framed our constitution may have been on to something with this Electoral College scam.

Although not from the rust belt, I can relate to your emotions. I grew up in a Democratic family and feel betrayed. I am a product of my ancestors and know they would not recognize the modern Democratic party. I remained loyal until about midway of Obama"s 2nd term by stretching my beliefs thinking it was serving some greater good, but now, I feel like the party left me, I didn't leave the party. Full bore MAGA now.

It's kind of hard to contend you're the champion of blue collar workers and unions any longer when you're ardently advocating for illegal immigrant amnesty because "they will do the low skilled jobs Americans won't do."
The conflict of interest has finally become apparent. The donor class, which owns the big businesses, have decided they would rather pay non-union illegal immigrants who will gladly accept $7.25/hr or even less, than continue to bribe union chiefs, pay American blue collar workers much higher union mandated wages, benefits, and pensions, and deal with the headache of strikes and collective bargaining agreements.
This is why Hillary didn't care to go to the Rust Belt, and this is why Dems have flip-flopped from "we need border security and illegals deported" to "dreamers deserve amnesty".
There is a grand awakening among the blue collar worker happening as we speak. If we can stave off amnesty, Dems don't stand a chance in any elections for a long while.

I know that the company i work for just bought a bunch of shelves for the warehouse because of Friday Jan 26th all the prices were going to jump a bunch around 20-30%. That has to be a big boost to those that want to build here. Now if we could only get a better sub contractor than the mexicans who couldnt speak english who put them in and tried to up charge us for bullshite. But we shut that shite down by contacting the shelving company that hires them.
