I’m not sure a majority has had it. The rate of Asymptomatic cases was grossly overestimated (I think on purpose). Less than 20% cases are Asymptomatic.

Yeah he keeps saying that and I’m not sure where he’s getting that from, but I’m pretty sure it’s false.

I got you, but do you think this shot is:

A. Safer,

B. As safe, or

C. Less safe

...than the seasonal flu shot?

Your risks from one of the mRNA vaccines is pretty low above 30. Biggest risk is myocarditis (which is still lower than actual covid) and that’s seen mostly in younger, healthier people.

True.

But why would someone below the age of 50 (59 and younger if we are really looking at the data) need the vaccine unless they had major health issues?

Gotacha, I don't dispute it either way.

Its more of an exercise to see who you can really trust. That just adds gasoline to the fire.

Most of this doesn't make sense on any level, I can take whatever facts someone wants to give me... we take as the truth and it still will never make sense.

Hard to tell right now but I think the mRNA ones are B.

J&J is looking to be C, but covid is objectively worse than the flu for old people so that’s a different calculus.

Personally, I wouldn’t let anyone I care about get J&J shot with Pfizer and Moderna available.

Fair enough, but what about a huge swath of mild cases that didn't go to the doctor, didn't get tested and recovered on their own? I get that we'll never get good data (again, probably on purpose), but between natural immunity, acquired immunity from infection AND the shots, certainly we should be approaching some sort of immunity theshold.

Cases are spiking now because of July 4th and testing is ramping back up. This is the literal tail end of the pandemic phase of COVID. In November we start the endemic phase.

I’m in my mid 30s and got it but I work in an ER, have elderly parents, hate being sick, and would rather have something made in an American lab rather than a Chinese lab.

Just made sense for me, but I know not everyone has the same situation.

The CDC reports demographic characteristics, including race/ethnicity, of people receiving COVID-19 vaccinations at the national level. As of July 19, 2021, CDC reported that race/ethnicity was known for 58% of people who had received at least one dose of the vaccine. Among this group, nearly two thirds were White (59%), 9% were Black, 16% were Hispanic, 6% were Asian, 1% were American Indian or Alaska Native, and <1% were Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, while 8% reported multiple or other race.

Agreed. I don’t blame you getting vaccinated in your circumstances.

So if my math is correct, then less than 6% of those vaccinated are black.

Pretty awful when they’re some of the most at-risk.

Lab-confirmed Covid hospitalizations aren’t nearly as high as the media wants you to believe.

Cases are such an irrelevant metric right now because of the vaccines, I don’t know why they’re even discussed.

We live in a world where sitting in a congress person’s chair is a worse crime than burning down a convenience store or driving a new car off the show room floor & through a plate glass window during a riot.
