Data scientist who predicted 2016 says 2020 to be a repeat

Aussie data guru who successfully picked the winner in 49 of the 50 American states in 2016 says the US President is currently on track to win again. His lab also nailed the result of both the 2016 Brexit referendum and the Australia federal election last year.

In all three cases, public opinion polling pointed to the opposite result.

“It is obvious again that Trump will lose the popular vote,” he told news.com.au.

“However, he’s tracking really well in the crucial states. Florida is a coin toss, but he’s slightly ahead for me. And Minnesota and Pennsylvania as well. And then Texas, he will win easily.

“So then that gives him an edge to get about 270, 280 electoral votes.

He analyzes vast amounts of social media and surprisingly found that Biden seems to be more polarizing than Clinton, saying that people are reacting very harshly to his social media posts and that, surprise, there's not much support for him.

Anyway the professor has wacky scientist hair so you know he's right.

I think he’s wrong about one thing.

Trump will get the popular vote this time too. Not by much but he will get it.

Add 10 electoral votes for Minnesota and he has 316 EC votes. He’s not losing any states he won and add just Minnesota. Gets 20% of the black vote and even more Hispanic support this election. Bookmark this

Hell, if you take out the voter fraud from four years ago, Trump easily won the popular vote in 2016.

Tens of millions are going to vote for a 50 year deep state swamp rat that has dementia and does not even know where he is .....
That is really a sad indictment on the current state of the US

Does he have any data about the senate? That’s more crucial imo

It’s hard to imagine that if Obama got re-elected in his second term that Trump won’t be re-elected. Obama had so many scandals and the economy wasn’t even that great when he was running for his second term. I thought for sure he would lose.

Hope he is correct. I could see Trump winning both the Electoral College (which matters) and the popular vote (which does not.)

He might have lost had he not been running against a spineless coward

It is. You never heard of the Texas Swing?

If you have a couple of minutes, enjoy.

That would be nice, but I doubt it.

This assumes fair voting. If a state manages count mass -mailed ballots that were not requested via absentee, theres no guarantees.

I’ll also add that states sending out request forms so all voters can request an absentee ballot may increase “voter turnout” for the left, which may have an impact on results.

I see your point. The good news is though, 9 battleground states are republican legislatures, with fraud being there, they could do something about that IF they get to work now

He's got a great chance of losing PA, WI and MI, unfortunately. The majority of voters pay scant attention and things like COVID scares negatively impact the incumbent.

Won't happen because not California and New York. He could win 48 states and still lose the popular vote because he wi lose by over 20 points in these two states. A Republican will never win the popular vote again.
