Any dems want to defend Menendez here?

LINK

Donald Trump's most lasting legacy may be teaching the GOP how to fight back. This ad is incredible.

Mendendez will win, but it may be by less than 10 points, which would be a surprise.

It is true, and totally sad. Pathetic, actually.

Trump has taught the GOP not to rely on a soft message told through the media.

As much as I would love to see Menendez lose, the opponent is far from conservative. While he will have an "R" behind his name and thus hopefully give us more influence on committees, etc., I expect he will vote with the DEMS often. He is pro-choice, pro gay marriage, he has refused to answer about the his feelings on gun control measures. However, as far as we know he hasn't consorted with underage prostitutes.

That ad is basically a sledgehammer straight to Menenedez's back.

It's blue state new jersey that voted for Obama's ambassador to be their Governor.

You have to make allowances for that kind of constituency.

However, the biggest and most important thing is that will be one less vote to put Chuck Schumer in the Majority Leader's seat and that will keep the Trump-McConnell judicial pipeline going.

Two issues that really don't matter much, especially in a state like New Jersey.

Holy shite there are morons in the comments asking for proof. Maybe look for the ACTUAL CASE and FBI info cited in the ad???

These people are stupid.

Let’s look at it from these criteria-

1. Will they vote for cloture in important matters?

2. Is the margin in the Senate going to be close enough he will have inordinate power due to being a swing vote?

3. Will this race be a money pit for the Dems?

The answers are “Yes, he’ll vote for cloture”, “No, it looks like there will be a sizable majority (51+ however many flips from this cycle), and “Yes, airtime in NYC and Philly is expensive.”

I wouldn’t want this guy to be the 50th vote on something but any leaving the Dems have to do on him is that much more work they have to do to get their way rather than having Menendez rubber stamp it.

Not to mention the irony is entirely lost on them. Even without that proof, in Senator Menendez's own words, women have the right to be believed

Not sure about that. I guess it would depend on the issue at hand. However, hopefully we have enough votes so that we can afford to lose a few people like him and Murkowski when push comes to shove.
