Netflix subscriber churn rates began to rise Sept. 10, the day after the release of “Cuties” on Netflix, when the hashtag “#CancelNetflix” was in the top-trending spot on Twitter, according to data compiled by YipitData.
On Saturday, Sept. 12, Netflix’s cancellation rate in the U.S. jumped to nearly eight times higher than the average daily levels recorded in August 2020 — reaching a multiyear high, the data-analytics provider told Variety. With the #CancelNetflix hashtag continuing to trend on social media, it is possible elevated churn could continue in the coming days, according to the firm.

I laughed out loud the first time I read that excuse.
These people think we're retarded. It was quite clear what the movie and its director were trying to portray. A poor, oppressed girl from a religious/conservative family "coming of age" and "empowering herself" through dance and the embracing of her female sexuality.
To try and pretend it's anything but that is pathetic. Own your shite.
An expose doesn't glamorize the type of shite it's trying to condemn. It's like creating an expose on drug use by portraying an impoverished young man who uses LSD to become a rich and famous surrealist artist.

I cancelled mine. The director and Netflix are blaming conservatives for being outspoken on something they haven’t watched yet. I purposely don’t need to watch children being explored to know I strongly disagree with it and cancel. Screw you netflix.
