Why would conservatives rip it down?

She has a lot of constitutional opinions that I disagree with (and believe it or not, many opinions that this board would cheer for) but regardless, she is an icon in our legal history and she is from Brooklyn.

Maybe it can play No Sleep Till Brooklyn while doing it since Notorious RBG was inexplicably a pop icon.

I hope not. Don’t play their games. Plus if we were going to rip down a statue, we’d start with Lenin’s in Seattle.

Yes

And “they” are historically-ignorant, emotionally unstable toddlers in adult bodies incapable of independent thought and analysis.

No one should seek to imitate them.

I mean to them that’s one of their idols. There should be no issue with this if that’s what the people of Brooklyn want.

Exactly. Do you want to be the Left? No? Then don’t try to rip down statues to home town heroes.

It should not be allowed to stand by patriots under any circumstance. The era of statues and historical memory and tributes for public figures is over. Democrats have spent the last year Progsplainin' this. No exceptions.

But why? She’s wasn’t the first female SC justice. She was surrounded by two other women on the court.

She is arguably the most intelligent woman ever on the Court.

Her dedication to equality in gender matters is certainly a noble feat. Most of this board doesn’t realize this but she championed a bunch of issues where men were being discriminated against under various state laws in direct violation of the 14th Amendment. They didn’t get as much press as discrimination against women but she fought for them nevertheless.

I’ve said several times that I disagree with a lot of her constitutional positions. But most jurists will admit that she was in the upper echelon of Justices as it concerns legal reasoning and ability to formulate reasonable legal arguments.

She is the mirror image of Scalia - who is a legal icon in his own right.
