Cuomo signs executive order to deploy National Guard to round up unused ventilators, PPE

For all of you in the rural areas in blue states who might think you're little more than serfs for the elites in your major cities...think again.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that he is deploying the National Guard to round up unused ventilators and personal protective equipment from across the state so they can be redistributed to hospitals on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak.
The move, which Cuomo is authorizing through an executive order, comes as COVID-19's death toll in New York jumped by 562 overnight to 2,935 – which is the “highest single increase in the number of deaths since we started,” he said.
“I understand they don’t want to give up their ventilators... I understand that even if they are not using them they are reluctant to see them go out the door – the theory if is the government gets them they will never get them back,” Cuomo told reporters Friday, describing how some hospitals and private sector companies are in possession of equipment that is sitting idle.
“But I’m not going to be in a position where people are dying and we have several hundred ventilators in our own state, somewhere else,” Cuomo added. “I apologize for the hardship to those institutions.”
Cuomo said facilities that have materials taken away will have the ventilators returned later – or be reimbursed so they can buy new equipment.

What he is doing is robbing the conservative areas of the state of their life saving resources to protect the liberals in the cities. We're about to see some old fashioned genocide committed against conservative Americans right there in New York state.

Nothing new, Upstate NY is always required to give up their resources when NYC needs them. They never get anything in return.

Some county plans ahead, has a few. They get stolen by governor asshat's thugs this week. They are needed in the county that planned ahead next week. Rural peasants die next week to save their urban betters this week. This is horse shite. I hope the rural counties "lose them".

The media is gushing over this liberal but all he does is bitch and moan that he needs more. He didn’t lead or manage anything, he holds a press conference. Without the feds he would be lost. I believe he is scared that his mismanagement of this crisis will hurt his aspirations so he is trying to stock up on everything to be perceived as having his shite together.

And many of them will sit unused as the crisis subsides in NYC.....while rural residents die because their equipment is sitting in a warehouse in the city.

All those deaths should mean some hospital beds and ventilators are opened up for new patients.
They should be at a point where the new infections start to fall, but deaths rise because the accumulation of sick patients start to reach the point where they start to die.

Cuomo just told incrementalism to piss up a rope and went straight to totalitarianism. That's pretty much outright grand larceny. Enforced at gun point or at least at the threat of gun point.
ETA: Lets hope SCOTUS is REALLY busy slapping down this crap soon. Not that it will actually stop them since there will be no action taken against them.
