This picture we've all seen. Look at it from the point of view this would probably be similar to his pictures of attendees if there were no COVID. The American people seeing this would have to call bullshite. COVID gives them a very good cover story.

If your metrics for victory are how many people show up for rallies, then sure. People actually liked Obama, and Trump's a populist, so it makes sense for them to draw crowds. Biden's boring as hell and nobody actually cares about him as an individual, it's no surprise he'd get poor attendance even without Covid.
Kerry would have had poor crowds too. I wonder what the Republican version of that would be. Like, imagine if Jeb would have gotten the nomination. Crowds would have been weak.
Good thing crowds have nothing to do with how many people voted for you, especially in a year like this. Personally I hope we go back to when this wasn't a legitimate way that we rated Presidents, and Presidents egos weren't so weak that they actually cared about it.

Except that counties is a worthless metric because the size of them varies from 10s to millions.
Los Angeles County alone is 10 million people.
Kalawao County is 86 people.
